I woke up naked on a beach, under a canoe. Haven’t really drank much tequila since.

On a huge trampoline with 10 friends when I was like 15.

In a pile of people on a Persian carpet outside an underground nightclub.

Inside an abandoned caravan in the middle of a forest that I was lost in.

Inside a big tyre used as a cushion for boats on a dock. In Swedish the word for being passed out from being drunk is “däckad” and the word tyre is “däck” so I was “däckad i ett däck” - “tyred in a tyre”.

In the aisle of a truck stop convenience store between magazine racks. Our tour bus had broken down again. It was in some midwestern town, can’t even remember the state, as this was in the late 80s. Was reading magazines on the floor to kill time and fell asleep. Fortunately the clerk didn’t care.

It was unbelievable cool, but not in a temperature way. It was a bit chilly but not that bad since it was summer. That also means no sundown so it was just a bit less light. We dug a hole in the snow to keep from the wind and with some thick sleeping bags in a waterproof bag it was quite comfy and warm.

You are very far from any real civilization (no cellphone or anything) and that is completely refreshing. You just lay there listening to remote avalanches and the ocean, haven’t slept as good as there. Untill after a short night I woke up from snow drifting into my nose and it was time to go before the weather changed.

Afterwards we took a swim in 4°C ocean water… That also sure was something :)

Edit: I’ve written a small journal with some pictures on my blog if you’re interested…

I woke up in a bathtub once. The specifics are missing, but I remember someone suggested playing beer pong with tequila instead.

locked in the back of a uhaul, using a loaf of bread as a pillow. when the sun rose the tiny airhole in the wall became a camera obscura and i watched the sunrise uprise down while waiting for someone to unlock the truck.

A woman picked me up at a bar and we went back to her place.

When I woke up the next morning I was surrounded by the most Elvis paraphernalia that I have ever seen in one place.

I told her I was grabbing some coffees and just never returned.

My story starts the same, except I woke on the couch, butt naked, her fully dressed and her family milling around making breakfast. They were very nice people!

Rode my motorcycle to work on a Saturday to check in on my training class who had just hit the call center floor.

      “Where you been shalafi?”

      “Uh, it’s a story…”

On a military style folding bed, without a blanket and a gas mask on.

(I was renovating my current apartment, it was 4 o’clock in the morning and there were too many particles in the air to breathe without a filter.)

    1. In the back seat of my car in blizzard conditions outside my friend’s house because I’d left at like 2 AM and realized there was far too much snow to make it home. My friend was fast asleep when I came back so I just slept in my car.
    2. Another time I slept in the hallway of my apartment because I was locked out and too exhausted/poor to do anything about it until morning.
