Not a huge fan of mormons myself. But danged if”n I have ever flicked a booger towards one. I do remember this bit of advice from my High School days, “If you go camping with a Mormon, be sure that there are several fellow Mormons. B/c if there are no other bro’s or sis’s around, then the party is on like Donkey Kong. That Latter Day Saint gon’ drink all yer booze & smoke all the weed. As long as there is accountability your camping stash is safe. What I am saying is that If you go camping & are bringing any mormon persons, do make sure you have at least 2 present at all times. That is all. Bearing witness amongst their kind will save you $’s personally. I am so not kidding.

I can attest to this story. And of course they never bring their own, so they’re consuming all of your stuff, throwing your carefully planned intoxicant inventory completely out of whack. But also don’t get them in groups of more than 3, or they’ll wake you up before breakfast making a racket playing basketball.

in high school I dated a Mormon girl and it was so bizarre. she only ever showed ONE emotion, happiness. that’s it, and even then you could tell it was genuine. Like I remember she absolutely bombed an exam and it was clear she was upset about it to point she wanted to cry but she couldn’t. she refused or simply didn’t know how to show that emotion.

Also yeah she drank like a fish when her Mormon friends weren’t around.

The Mormon girl I dated in high school also tried to always appear in a good mood, put together, etc… but she really struggled, and had a lot of emotional outbursts while we were together. She even hinted at suicidal thoughts once or twice. Years later I realized she was probably dealing with some serious mental health issues. But the reason for the happy face is simple: they’re taught that if you’re unhappy that’s because of a lack of faith in the holy spirit. If you are truly faithful then it will always fill you up with happiness and positive energy. So letting other people see that you’re sad or upset about something will make them question your faith and dedication to the church. Even admitting it to themselves makes them ashamed, like they’ve committed a terrible sin. It’s really sick.

This has to be one of the most soul-crushingly evil things I’ve ever heard. What a monstrously simple and devastatingly unhealthy thing to do to a person’s brain.

I kinda feel like MAGA has stalled out a bit and the Night of Long Knives is happening in reverse. If they don’t reign it in and keep up the blame game it’ll either A) Give credence to their enemy narrative or B) Blow the whole lie into pieces and they’ll lose all control. Either way it’s gonna be a shitshow for the rest of us that would like to see peace and sanity even somewhat restored.

Religions haven’t stopped fighting against each other for thousands of years. There’s no “100 year gap of religious peace” or something like that, it’s constant fighting and terror.

It’s not a win. The only good solution is a state that isn’t infected with religion, that keeps religion from getting out of control in every possible way they can. More religious terrorism? No, not a win. We want to stop the nutjob christian nationalists, not watch them wreak havok on every part of society.

The problem is that the Grifter-in-Chief will continue playing all the different splinter-hate-groups off each other for profit and so a lot of damage to social cohesion in the process.

This person is infected with doublespeak. Unable to speak plainly, they only talk in sarcasm that is exactly the same as the reality of religious terrorists.

Usually countered with an “/s”, this person is also not entirely able to use punctuation or capitalization.

Just a reminder that when you hear about the Christian Right, you are talking about Evangelicals. But knowing what reality is… those people can’t even follow proper Evangelical teachings.

Traditional Catholics. It’s actually several different groups of Catholics that have ported many of the social positions of evangelicals into Catholicism.

Is this the group that did the whole slander against a certain minority in the late 1800s to mid 1900s worldwide? Or is this an offshoot?

It’s a whole bunch of splinter groups who all disagree with the modern “woke” church to varying degrees. For example, my parents follow of the FSSP, which refuses to acknowledge anything post-Vatican II and still insists on performing mass in Latin, plus all the regular “traditional” religious crap. If you listen to my dad discussing politics it’s abundantly clear that he actively supports all the stereotypically Evangelical talking points, and isn’t even particularly Catholic since he hates the Pope for being so “woke”.

“I believe in one holy and apostolic church” my ass, you believe in your own church old man

Isn’t the Pope like the conduit of god or such? I always thought Popes were like the final say and you weren’t allowed to disagree with them. I mean a whole bunch of people went to the Southern Mediterranean because a few of them ordered it, right? I admit my knowledge is a little lacking in the Catholic belief structure.

Especially in co servative culture there’s two sets of rules. The explicit (slave) rules, and the implicit (true virtue) rules which are not spoken aloud. They are often opposite.

Freewill Baptist, love thy neighbor my ass… the ONE thing I’ll give them is they don’t pay the pastor and the money is spent for the community or the repairs of the church.

Religions are hate machines. “There can be only one true god”, says all western religions. Even if it’s the same abrahamic god, it’s enough of an excuse to genocide all other people, religions, races, and those within their own ranks that someone thinks isn’t part of “them” for some illogical reason.

The christian nazis don’t stop when they’ve conquered everything, they keep on finding new enemies to target. Even if it’s them. It’s like cancer that way. Nazis are societial cancer.

The global elite Mafia, or a natural human behavior that exhibits itself as if its an evil cancer, is using people and getting people killed as political theater to incite a reaction by regular people to revolt so they can have a historically acceptable excuse to overtake full control of society to feed their mental illness of world conquest.

Everyone is a pawn from the shooter being manipulated to the people killed. They got played out on the living chess board that the elite world Mafia plays. This is beyond America and American politics. America is a tool as well for these people. Like owning property in monopoly.

    Psychological warfare and street theater.

You can’t win if you don’t know the game your playing. And it doesn’t matter how successful you became with your life under a nation if you are not playing the actual game that this elite world Mafia is using to own and control and manipulate. Ones American dream success is completely irrelevant to the real game.

It’s beyond the pop trending political news they peddle you.
