It consisted of suing the federal government and getting an injunction from a judge saying they can’t be deployed. They are there. Legally they aren’t supposed to be doing anything. Beyond that, I’m not sure what you want the governor to do. Rally his own private militia to fight them off? If he did that it would literally justify their presence there and eliminate any legal restrictions.
Advice for any undocumented immigrants who are trying to work their way through the legal system to get asylum: Don’t go to your court dates.
Yeah, that’s illegal and this might cause ICE to come looking for you. But if you go into court, the judge will likely dismiss your case, at which point you WILL be arrested on site and deported as quickly as they can manage it. Federal immigration judges have been instructed to dismiss ALL asylum claims, regardless of merit.

The really infuriating part here is that they’re making up the same sort of bogus claims about hundreds of protesters. This woman gets let go (for now) only because she’s a journalist and it’s getting a lot more attention.

One of our cats has a really unhealthy obsession with ribbon. The sort used in gift-wrapping or for party balloons. If anyone happens to leave a piece of ribbon lying around she will absolutely find it and try to eat it. More than once this has resulted in massive vomiting and/or diarrhea.

So just so we’re all on the same page, withdrawing a legal opinion from a former AG is not the same thing as “removing a section of the state constitution”. An AG’s opinion indicates how their office will apply the law when deciding who and how to prosecute cases, but they don’t even get the final say on how that law is interpreted. The courts do. It’s bad and definitely indicates collusion, but let’s please use the proper language to describe what’s happening.
It was a stupid way for him to word that (no surprise, literally everything that comes out of his mouth is stupid), but I just want to point out that in the context of what he’s saying, what he intended to convey is that he got rid of the “freedom of speech” defense specifically for flag burning. Which… he didn’t. But he’s trying to by writing yet another executive order to instruct the DoJ to prosecute flag burners. Because, you know… a plague of flag burning is among the biggest problems facing our nation today.
Specifically, they wanted states that had abolished slavery to allow slave catchers to arrest and return escaped slaves within their borders.

The Mormon girl I dated in high school also tried to always appear in a good mood, put together, etc… but she really struggled, and had a lot of emotional outbursts while we were together. She even hinted at suicidal thoughts once or twice. Years later I realized she was probably dealing with some serious mental health issues. But the reason for the happy face is simple: they’re taught that if you’re unhappy that’s because of a lack of faith in the holy spirit. If you are truly faithful then it will always fill you up with happiness and positive energy. So letting other people see that you’re sad or upset about something will make them question your faith and dedication to the church. Even admitting it to themselves makes them ashamed, like they’ve committed a terrible sin. It’s really sick.

Mmmmmkay. I wish I was leaving out some sort of nuance or context, but no. That’s straight up what he’s saying, unapologetically.
Sadly, I think we all underestimated just how many people there are in this country that actually desperately want the fuckery. They think it helps them. They think they’re “winning”. I keep thinking they’ll realize, at some point, that it does the opposite. It hasn’t happened yet.
This is just one more step in labeling anything opposed to the Trump administration as enemies of the state. If you don’t see that you are either ignorant or complicit. The fact that it’s so badly defined is why it makes the perfect boogeyman. They can attribute any characteristics they want to “Antifa” and then anyone who espouses those characteristics is under suspicion of being a terrorist.
Everything is alleged unless/until there is a conviction. That’s just being accurate.
And also, now they might start arresting protesters on suspicion of being cartel hitters or some such bullshit.
