Just confirming that this is because you’ll both enter the relationship as economically equivalent?

    Feels like Dragon Age.

“Please, Warden, help me with my personal quest. Quick in and out. Little of the ol’ in and out. Also, cool swag.”

    “Okay. ($9.99)”
    “Some other time.”

I remember shit like that in camp. There’d be a new thing to talk about and you’d get prompted to then buy the access to the content one of the companions just asked you to help with. This was back on '360, mind, so I mostly only remember that, Claudia Black, and the bald guy who didn’t understand what cookies are.

On some free-to-play pay-to-win MMO about 15 years ago my guild leader spent about £500 on premium items for me. Not just me, also everyone else in the guild, I reckon he was down about £10,000 all in. Kept telling him not to but he was insistent.

I cant quite understand who exists in the Venn diagram between “has 10k spare to blow on nonsense” and “actually will do that”

If i had that kind of money just to play with I’d be on jet skis or hot air balloons or something.

A friend of mine played A LOT of Aion. The player who spent by far the most money later turned out to be a member of Qatar’s royal family. I can’t tell you much because the game was confusing and I was not that interested, but according to my friend, he also paid for alot of in-game junk for his guild. So he fits right into that cross section.
