I don’t think they are, but definitely reminiscent.

No there isn’t?
A massive fire broke out at an amusement park in western India Saturday, leaving at least 27 people dead, including four children, police said.
The fire occurred at the park in the city of Rajkot in Gujarat state.
Police Commissioner Raju Bhargava said the fire was now under control and rescue work was underway. The bodies were difficult to identify because they were so badly charred, police officer Vinayak Patel said.
Bhargava. the police commissioner, said that police were working to determine the cause of the fire.
“We will be registering an offense for negligence and the deaths which have occurred. Further investigation will take place once we complete the rescue operation,” he said.
The amusement park was privately owned by Yuvraj Singh Solanki.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on X that he was “extremely distressed by the fire… in Rajkot. My thoughts are with all those who have lost their loved ones. Prayers for the injured.”
I didn’t believe you, but was surprised to learn this is actually true.
The goods inside these stores — Doritos, sunglasses, lotto tickets, energy drinks — only account for ~30% of the average gas station’s revenue, yet bring in 70% of the profit.

Just fyi:
I don’t have nearly enough tinfoil for this
I’ve been asking why cars don’t have more obvious visual indicators since I was like 8 years old.
It’s pretty weird that we’re basically just working with 2 sets of lights and blinkers at this point.
For AV’s specifically, a pretty significant/obvious missed feature is some indicator that the car “sees” you. Pedestrians make eye contact with drivers to check if crossing is safe. How is there no equivalent for AV’s??? It’s such an obvious miss.
Might have to block this bot if it posts puff piece CEO bullshit under the guise of “technology.”
Anybody who has a skill they’re paid for?
Anybody who respects IP?
Anybody who can empathize?
Copying my own comment from another thread:
In those workers’ defense, the delivery companies spent hundreds of millions of dollars on a disinformation campaign to trick the public into thinking that voting for 22 was in their own interest.
It’s absurd that it was on the ballot in the first place.

These stories are so dumb/intentionally misleading/outrage bait.
Executives have predefined stock sale schedules at regular intervals. This allows them to convert their equity to cash and avoid conflicts of interest. That is, it’s hard to gain an advantage over the market when you sell exactly the same amount every month for the next 4 years.
Where was everyone’s outrage the other 99% of times this guy sold exactly the same amount of stock?
You know you can buy literally the cars you wanted as a teenager right?
Staying on the BMW thread, you can get a mint E46 or E9X M3 for a fraction of the cost of the new ones. Just gotta find one where the owner has taken care of it and kept service records.
Just to clarify, skiplagged does do things a little differently.
For example: they saved me $300 flying from Japan to SFO because they booked me an additional leg from SFO to SEA. If you searched for the first leg on any aggregator (or the airline’s site), it was available but cost $300 more than booking the 2-flight itinerary to SEA (which would never show up if you searched for flights to SFO).
For what it’s worth, I agree that this form of pricing is absurd and should be illegal. The fact that skiplagged even exists indicates something has gone wrong.
Heck, I’ll let you not use windows for $49.
Isn’t the free market great?
