Tech nowdays is just a scam, there is no new tech to sell and they know it, I have a 16 years old laptop running on Linux and after a while the browser disabled my add ons without my consent because it said it was not sure they are safe, of course I worked around it and with a code added in the configuration settings the add ons were back again, so basically you can run a 16 year old laptop and browse the Internet just fine with no add ons popping up.

There is no new tech for a long time now! So their only way to sell laptops and pcs is to scam you into thinking that your machine is just outdated because they say so, they same happens with motherboard chips and Microsoft, they are scammers

I love it when the Turn-off Adblocker prompt has a, “I will not turn off AdBlock or I will not support you” text. I click the fuck out of that. Every ad has a chance of being a malicious one that hijacks my control of the browser (these are really prevalent on mobile).

Or it just makes the site absolutely unusable.

I’m pretty sure a method of torture is making people read the mobile version of Fandom and Forbes without Adblock.

I would assume that it could be the brand-new form of torture…People are highly creative when it comes to hurting others.

Well I did crosspost it, it shows in the crosspost chain view

But this was crossposted as part of ongoing boycotting/protest efforts to reduce the influence of .ml comms because of the behavior of the .ml instance admins to make it an easier decision for other instance admins to defederate

      Some highlights from the link:

"Don’t worry guys, the Uyghur Genocide was REALLY just birth control! ~dessalines, .ml admin, dev https://lemmy.world/post/30580167

“See! nobody died IN Tiananmen Square, just AROUND it, so it doesn’t count!!” ~ Davel, .ml admin https://lemmy.world/post/30673342

.ml admin, Nutomics continued transphobia https://lemmy.world/post/29222558

CW: Original transphobic Comment from Nutomic

“NK is actually good and anything counter to that is Western propaganda!” ~dessalines, .ml admin, dev https://lemmy.world/post/31595035

General negative sentiment to other instances who haven’t “seen the way” yet ~davel, .ml admin https://lemmy.world/post/27426510

Hm, that’s weird that it didn’t show for me. Or at least I wasn’t aware of how to view that chain. Appreciate you sharing the .ml stuff. The fediverse is still a bit much for me, so I appreciate the clarification.

Np, some clients are just weird about it sometimes lol

If you’re looking for a good meme comm that isn’t on world or .ml [email protected] is a nice vibrant one

.world is fine for the most part, a lot of us are just trying to keep things more distributed amongst smaller instances so that not any one instance can overly dominate with many large comms.

It helps keep things healthier overall for the Threadiverse
