My Firefox is set up to more aggressively block sites from doing stuff and clear my cookies. I use Brave for when something breaks or if I want the site to track my preferences, like for YouTube.
Tech is better
Tech was only better until like maybe 2015-2016. We’re a solid decade into enshitification across the board. I can’t even find a phone I actually want to replace mine that is finally failing after 8 years and the car situation isn’t looking much better, fortunately I don’t have to deal with that for a while (hopefully).
Theres one for every generation.
If you’re relying on one hard drive not failing to preserve your data you are doing it wrong from the jump. I’ve got about a dozen hard drives in play from seagate and WD at any given time (mostly seagate because they’re cheaper and I don’t need speed either) and haven’t had a failure yet. Backblaze used to publish stats about the hard drives they use, not sure if they still do but that would give you some data to go off. Seagate did put out some duds a while back but other models are fine.
Eh, I’m pretty used to it.
Now we talk about it and it’s more accepted.
That sounds like soldiering through it with extra steps.
Does Nazis not liking something really make it controversial?
So? The point is Europeans nearly wiped them out. Disease surely helped but they were making sure to finish the job.
“Holding off”? No, I can’t afford it. I’d love to own a home but my wage doesn’t keep up with inflation.
Yeah, only once per day? No wonder he’s unhappy.
There are, of course, counter-examples. But those are usually more the subject of documentaries about injustice in the justice system.
Yeah that’s why they shouldn’t be using it. Maybe I’m more sensitive to it because I can be really socially awkward but I can’t help but think about how I’d be fucked if I ever ended up the subject of one of these investigations because I have a lot of the same behaviors they use to justify their suspicion towards someone when I get nervous
I work to make things less shitty for the people I care about and keep myself alive and comfortable. That’s about it. I’m not interested in having children because I have no confidence that the world will improve for the next generations.
It shows cases where the police is correctly doing what should be their job.
That’s debatable. I’ve seen a lot of them where they’re interviewing the cop and they say things like “they knew he was guilty in their gut”. I personally don’t think police should be using their gut to investigate crimes. The documentary people only question statements like that if it’s one of the ones about a guy who ended up being innocent.
Reasons the ocean doesn’t suck:
It imploded that submarine full of billionaires.
Easier to imagine a pretty woman wanting to hurt me than imagine one wanting to kiss me.
He’s more of a toes guy.
The devs rushing the game out half added results in them getting $225M. So they have incentive to be shitty too. I don’t know enough about any of them to say which is more likely but that logic goes both ways.
Yeah it’s really annoying. Last time I went protesting I came home to troops quartered in my house.
I don’t have a downvote button but if I did I’d use it on misinformation. Things that are factually incorrect or unsubstantiated.
