Can the journalists please headline home as “American”, not leading off with a place he lived over half a century ago?

Across the country, 10 people have died in ICE custody since January.

I think at this point we can characterize it as killing. ICE is killing people.

No, he didn’t just magically and coincidentally “die”.

This was murder. We must never forget what is happening right now and we must never forgive any accomplice. Someday, they will be held accountable. Never forgive or forget the terror, slavery, torture, deprivation of human rights, and murder enacted by this administration and its accomplices.

two possibilities, both likely (at the same time).

      a) Ice does not provide basic necessities to live, like food/water/restrooms/access to emergency healthcare… and people will die.

      b) there are so many people detained that it is statistically likely people will die of natural causes (you dont become immortal just because you’re detained.

most likely both of those options at the same time.

The sad thing is I don’t think it will be the USA putting them to trial. It’ll be other nations that are picking through the rubble or individual governments after the united states balkanizes. Maybe I’m too pessimistic about things but I just don’t see a way we get out of this whole.

Without process, kidnapped in the streets, courtrooms and homes to be killed in detention. How can you accept this from your own country? The USA needs a revolution

Edit: I am very happy and would never consider suicide

It’s been so great the last 10 years saying “this is what will be happening because the neo-nazis are taking over” and everyone telling me I’m overreacting, I’m being hyperbolic, I’m exaggerating or my favorite “you’re just being dramatic”

Remember, THERE’S NO WAY they’d overturn Roe v Wade.

It’s really a very small consolation that one can now actually go “fucking told you so.”

I hate the situations in which I have to say “I fucking told you so”, but I do love saying “I fucking told you so.”

This isn’t a post making calling you crazy…

…The crazy people are actually right. Knowing parts of the truth makes them crazy.

Would that make it okay for ICE to abduct him without due process and kill him?

Keep in mind you’re talking about someone who came to the US as a 15 year old child.

Of course not but it’s important context for people who don’t know why a good chunk of Cuban Americans vote Republican.

If you only have a problem with it when it happens to the ‘wrong people’ then you have a lot in common with Trump voters 🤷‍♂️

And how tf is someone who was getting deported voting in presidential elections? Only citizens can do that.

I only dont have an issue when people who demanded something happens, has it happen to them.

Am I sad if an arsonist burns in a fire they set? No. Was I said when the billionaire crusher crushed the billionaires? No.

All examples of people getting what they demanded.

Except you have no evidence any of that is happening here. You know he was a Cuban immigrant who has been here since he was 15 and made up the rest.

Why am I having to be in this thread explaining that collective guilt and blaming children for where they were born is deranged?

Cuba ended slavery before the US?

We still have plenty of people alive in the US whose parents were literal slaves…
