I’ve actually been using Waterfox lately though because for some reason there’s a video codec issue on Firefox that makes YouTube videos not play correctly.

Did it help with battery life? My S24U has not been getting the greatest battery life lately and I wonder if this is why.

Only reason I use an AirBNB is if it’s a unique location where there are no hotels (like a cabin in the woods on a river or something) but I agree, I only book ones that don’t have a ridiculous checkout policy.

I also hate that private equity has taken over towns with short term rentals making the rest of us pay more in rent.

It was on Kickstarter which makes me a bit nervous, but I found a set of carbon steel clad pans from a new company called Strata Cookware. They’re the weight of something like an All-Clad but with a carbon steel top sheet. Pretty excited to try them out.

I think this will be a major issue with AI. Just because it was trained on a huge wealth of knowledge doesn’t mean that it was trained on correct knowledge.

I got a Google Gemini “text message” in Google messages today. I couldn’t find a way to turn it off, so I just blocked and reported it as spam lol

My mom bought a cheap HP printer/scanner several years ago and subscribed to their “instant ink” subscription which was actually surprisingly cheap (like $3/mo) but once the printer stopped reliably connecting to the internet and nobody could print wirelessly anymore with it, she canceled the subscription and HP DISABLED ALL OF THE INK CARTRIDGES. The cartridges themselves have wifi connections so HP can automatically send you new ink when they get low. What a scam.

It’s cheaper to put one screen and write software than spin up manufacturing operations for all sorts of differently shaped custom buttons and the control systems and wiring harnesses that are required to operate them all, so that’s why automakers are doing it. Not saying I like it lol.

My high school taught the quantum mechanical model of the atom instead of whatever simplified model most high schools teach.

I found out this was a huge advantage taking university chemistry because I was like “cool this is all review I’m gonna ace this,” but everyone else in the class was like “what the fuck is going on this isn’t what they taught us!”

I’ve got two engineering degrees and have found myself miserable in every job I’ve had. Sitting in an office for 8 hours does not bring me joy.
