Can’t believe I don’t want to watch advertisements all day
I stopped watching when he started covert instruments and immediately realized what every single future video would be like. I was right…
Hard disagree. The title isn’t shitty. The worst harm that could’ve come to you is that you spend 30 seconds watching a video that you realise isn’t for you. This horrible fate is a risk you run when browsing the interwebs.
Yes it might be annoying expecting a concise lecture about domains, but you only need to spend 30 seconds to realise it and you can avoid map men forever if you wish.
Your expectation seems to be that video titles should be there to provide all context before watching, and while that may be true and desirable for fully educational channels, this isn’t one of them. You’ve got the wrong expectations coming into it.
What do you think is a better title? “This is a humorous video about country codes on the internet. Please watch only if you are willing to be amused and not thoroughly educated.”
You’ve got the wrong mindset going into it. Would you really go to a standup comedy and then complain you learned nothing useful? These videos are for entertainment foremost, lecturing second, concise factual information not at all.
The point of this video really isn’t to just give information, but rather to be funny and entertaining.
Agreed. Names don’t work that way. Should we just append any remotely relevant info to the name? “I use Arch/Systemd/Gnu/Linux-AMD 5 7700X, webcam connected, 2000 dpi mouse BTW”

By that logic buying a better pc is cheating because it gives you an advantage. We need some nuance here. All modifications to game files are not cheating, (even if not allowed in any case), because well, not all modifications are cheats. This is a great example actually, because AMD sanctioned, graphics card driver latency reduction isn’t a cheat. Obviously the way it was implemented was clearly very problematic and should’ve never been greenlit.
However, this isn’t an unintentional cheat and detecting it as such is incorrect. It is, however, a modification and those are reasonably disallowed, it is totally fair to disallow that.
Blud does not know what BitLocker is
The amount of times I’ve seen people misunderstanding this…
When you blast something with a high powered laser it behaves differently, who knew?
Largely this is probably true. One large benefit for the consumer with streaming music over buying it is actually that it is cheaper. Significantly cheaper if you listen to a bunch of different things. So if everyone has moved to a method of listening to music that costs less then there has to be less money available to artists (all else being equal).
Even if 100% of streaming services’ revenue went to artists it could still be less money.
The problem isn’t Spotify itself, it’s the business model of streaming being way too cheap.
Ah yes all those millionaire artists. Poor rich artists. Everyone knows all artists are rich. Right?
Did you… read the comment? It wasn’t about the streaming platform owners.
Just listen to the radio then instead of complaining here?
People don’t really know what the term means. Any media where the users create the content is a social media. That’s what social media means! YouTube, reddit, Lemmy, Instagram, Snapchat… All of these are social medias! Perhaps we need some different term to differenciate them based on whether you’re more expected to interact with friends or anonymously with strangers though.
