Honestly, I think hitting people with pros of Linux more than flaws/complaints about windows is a better strategy. Negativity is usually just hit with more negativity, not a very strong approach lol

Try to understand, not everyone likes windows. They require quite a bit of maintenance, are usually insecure and speaking personally, some setups just don’t look good. It’s why some people opt for skylights instead.
Honestly windows is so slow at this point, we just use door. Why waste all that energy and power just to get the thing off the ground when alternatives exist?
Windows is an anachronism. Since I even got my wife and her gaming PC on the light side with Garuda Linux, works like a charm. After that she wanted me to install that “cool blank desktop” I have on my work laptop on her business machine in the shop. Now she loves bspwm. Learning doesn’t make life harder per se, it’s fun.

The funny thing is: Edge isn’t actually a bad browser. It’s basically Chrome with custom Microsoft UI. So it behaves like pretty much all other browsers except Firefox.
Not only UI, but also trackers by microsoft. Btw no I wouldnt say chrome is a good one either

Edge isn’t a bad browser. However it’s based on Chromium so using it just feeds into the Chromium monopoly.
Firefox or Safari is the only way.
I tried switching to Firefox some weeks ago but deinstalled it immediately after realising that it’s DNS doesn’t work. My ISP is censoring some 🏴☠️ websites and I can only visit them by not using my ISP’s dns service.
No matter which DNS i selected in the browser settings I always got an error saying that Firefox couldn’t reach the DNS. I will stick to Opera GX now 🤷♂️

It might be a good idea to get a good VPN for any of those sites (even the streaming ones). No hate if you ran into an issue with FF. Every now and then I do see some PCs act weird with FF DNS options. Never able to figure out what causes them to not work correctly while most other PCs are working fine on the same local network. Opera and Opera GX “feel” too “busy” for me personally with just all the random things on the UI and features. I support people using anything that isn’t official Chrome at this point.

Nobody is downvoting you for just talking. They’re downvoting you because you very clearly lack knowledge in what you’re doing but are blaming it on the browser.
no the browser is the one to blame because the same settings which work in Opera don’t work in Firefox. I know I could change my dns system wide but it’s a personal preference to only make small changes to a running system.

When it comes to browsing the web and showing content and having good add-ons, edge does a good job.
But why does it need to constantly advertise itself and other microsoft things to me? It’s annoying when Firefox does this, but it feels like edge does it almost every time I open it.
Plus I believe you can turn it off in firefox

Edge is a decent browser. Second best after Firefox.
I recently switched from brave too Firefox And I love it so far
But edge, especially the new chromium based one isn’t half bad and I believe it’s actually faster then chrome
And certainly a hell of a lot better then internet explorer
Edge is super lightweight and very handy for websites that don’t play well with Firefox and my suite of extentions.
What a surprise the browser made by the same dev as the OS, is optimized for the OS.
Edge only exists to download Firefox.
