I didn’t say anything about bullets, didn’t I?

And then I grabbed my pistol and shot… which hit the neighbor’s dog because it was smoothbore. (How does the rest of that go?)

Own a musket for home defense, since that’s what the founding fathers intended. Four ruffians break into my house. “What the devil?” As I grab my powdered wig and Kentucky rifle. Blow a golf ball sized hole through the first man, he’s dead on the spot. Draw my pistol on the second man, miss him entirely because it’s smoothbore and nails the neighbors dog. I have to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with grape shot, “Tally ho lads” the grape shot shreds two men in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off car alarms. Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He Bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up. Just as the founding fathers intended.

I know that guns are durable, but I still feel like that shit broke after being thrown that hard

I can see the bend @[email protected] is talking about but I think that’s just an effect from the camera. I’m sure there’s some flexing going on but it probably looks worse than it is, hard to say without better-quality footage.

Here are some of the frames showing the rifle at different points from just prior to the impact to immediately after landing on the ground. You can see what looks like a significant amount of bending across the whole rifle at impact +2 frames. At +13 and +14, there’s a decent view of the barrel and it doesn’t show any deformation. I don’t think the forces involved here are enough to damage the barrel but could always drop a cleaning rod through it before attempting to fire.
