… and for the pedantic in the group you can take something modern with you to play the music.

    Screw 50-60y!

    Go back ALL the way!

    J.S. Bach, to Led Zeppelin.

    Why?

J.S. Bach was THE original heavy-metal artist ( pipe-organs are HEAVY metal music : )

& he was also an innovator ( he was introduced to a whole bunch of piano-forte instruments, our piano is based-off-of those ) before he wrote The Art of the Fugue, so the whole thing about how to use these wild-new instruments was churning in his mind…

lighting-up in his mind that music could be that different, in that many ways, would possibly spark wilder music-writing in him, & he was the most music-OF-universe-that-is-music-FOR-universe writer I know-of ( most others are more social-process centered, not structure-itself centered, & to me universe is the only frame-of-reference that “religion” can be centered on, so Bach was the only one who wrote actual-religious music, in my eyes, all the officially-religious music is social-worship, which isn’t universe-centered, so it isn’t religious, to me: it’s just social-process’s narcissism )

Anyways, I’d have to explain to him that the only reason I was asking him to listen to it, was just to consider how it expanded-the-boundaries of what music is, & for that to free him to have vaster-understanding, enriching his access to his own unknown-potential before he listened, otherwise his assumptions would probably bork at hearing that stuff…

XOR, if Bach wouldn’t hear of that, then Mozart with The Who, same sorta reasoning.

With Mozart, though, I’d want to make him copy-down his sister’s music, so we’d actually have copies of it!
