On the one hand it’s James Gunn, who makes movies that are normally entertaining enough to be worth two hours of my time.
On the other, it’s Superman, and people have some very pre-conceived ideas about what a Superman movie should be like. And this ain’t that.
So we’ll see…
The first trailer focused almost entirely on Superman’s face, and this trailer introduces like 3 villains and 3 extended universe heroes. My conclusion: the first one didn’t focus-group well and since they have no overarching plan, they will redesign their whole universe around whatever the next focus group says.
I hope they don’t show another origin story of him leaving Krypton.
I’ll accept it, but only if told from the viewpoint of Krypto.

I like the fact that they showed how he didn’t blink for the cup throwing scene.
Because we really need yet another Superman movie…
I’ll take any number of good movies without caring about them being original or in a franchise. This looks like a good movie, so I’m excited about it.
