The limited time I’ve spent on the subway in NYC has taught me that if there’s ever an empty car that rolls up, there’s a good fucking reason it’s empty, and take the next one.
Often times you can smell the reason
I can confirm that there was no smell at all.
Looks like a 7 train, maybe stopping next at Junction Blvd, based on the sign
I took the line that goes to Flushing all the way to the last station. This must have been a few station before the last.
Yes, that’s the 7, so it all tracks. It wouldn’t surprise me to find an empty train car, especially at mid-day. If you had been in the next car over, it probably wasn’t empty.
Hahaha weaponized autism is fun :D
It’s not even weaponized autism the information is in the picture
Stand clear of the closing doors, please!
text you can hear
Are they normally this clean, or is this right after a cleaning crew?
Never been to NYC, I dunno.
Looks pretty typical to me (longtime nyc resident). It’s rare to see trash, and graffiti is pretty uncommon. People sometimes think the subway is still like The Warriors where it’s just a wall of spraypaint, but not so much.
It’s actually pretty rare to find random trash and such. And the interiors are designed to hide everyday grime and dirt.
I love pictures like this and I never get the symmetry right. How did you do it?
I held the phone against the ceiling, and needed multiple attempts
Love all the places to grab. Chicagos is great but there is never enough. On the other hand every chicago one has at least one flip up seat for wheelchairs, is that behind the photographer here?
I think the distant end of the train car has space for a wheelchair, but it doesn’t look like there are flip up seats there.
That liminality. 🤤
