Men are the most pedantic assholes to other men.

Treating women like they are soft little creatures is insanely sexist. Treat them as equals and they will treat you the same. I don’t understand why it’s so hard for other men to understand this.

Edit: i guess my assumption that men shouldn’t be a huge bag of dicks is wrong. No one should ever say something to a male that they shouldn’t say to a female. We shouldn’t need to change our behavior based on the gender of who we are talking to unless we as men fuckin suck.

Right, I’m not arguing that landlords are good. They seem to be a symptom of a system set up to encourage their shitty behavior.

I do wonder if a housing co-op is protected by law in some way. Or more likely it relies on a few people having good intentions who are running it. A housing co-op with no intent of profiting, ever, would be a good system imo.

People not understanding the actual cost of owning and maintaining a house is my only argument for landlords. Or if you maintain it yourself it’s a knowledge and time requirement.

Not saying landlords did a great job maintaining the rentals I’ve lived in. But there was definitely a point in my life where renting made more sense than owning a house.

We really need more control on rent prices so only high density housing is rentable. Or something, I don’t have answers for why my shitty house is worth 70% more than it was 5 years ago.

  • It depends what you want to do. System integration is sort of the broad name for people in my field. Its a software stack sort of like how networking layers work. Controls->scada->MES->janky messaging connector->SAP with other random stuff sprinkled in. The Wikipedia article has an OK introduction to it.

If your interested take a controls class that actually uses Rockwell or Siemens PLCs, not the theoretical stuff. There is also open source stuff that runs on arduino or other controllers.

Or see if you like programming. Python is used for inductive automations Ignition SCADA and visual basic/C# is AVEVAs wonder ware. Their are others out there, these are the ones I’ve used.

  • I’m a system integrator, and though I don’t do it right now, I’d consider myself an expert in dairy. I could see someone specializing in chocolate similarly.

The reason people don’t know about these jobs is because they aren’t advertised very well. My MS in mechanical engineering barely touched on it and I sort of fell into it on accident by knowing someone in the industry.

Edit: thinking about it for a moment, I actually did some work for a European chocolate producer about a decade ago
