I just bought some recertified Western Digital drives on eBay. First time.
3 out of 4 of the drives weren’t detected by the OS… I’m in the middle of RMA right now. They received my broken drives last week, but I haven’t heard anything back yet…
Oye, esa oración no tiene sen—ooooooh. 🙈
You prepare by fucking up a lot. You’re gonna have to repeat this shit experience enough times that you get numb to it.
If you want to fuck up again, but in a more controlled environment, maybe check out some mock interview service like interviewing.io or others.
But, that’s how it is. I just went through 7 months of getting punched in the balls before getting lucky.
(Also, leetcode and general prep does help a little too.)
My brother has the time and money to travel right now, but I’m having a hard time convincing him to go somewhere. He’s one of the people who think every country except the US is dangerous. Oh, and also, only the US has “safe” food. 🤦♂️
When is recently?
I checked my email just to be sure. So looks like I migrated my family in August 2024. Ah. Actually, further back than I thought.
So my mom, dad, wife, and me have been using Bitwarden for a little over a year without any issues.
My wife is a macOS user (for now…) and she’s totally fine with Bitwarden. She doesn’t care about password managers. It’s just some random app that saves passwords to her. She probably wouldn’t remember if she’s using 1Password or Bitwarden. My wife occasionally will add logins to Bitwarden.
My parents were macOS users—now they’re on Fedora Silverblue for 2 months!—but they’re even less technical than my wife. They don’t know what OS they’re running or what a password manager app is. They just know wolf icon = internet
, shield icon = passwords
. They don’t add or remove passwords. I added their 5 website logins and that’s all they need.
Aaah, ok. I read the docs at https://librewolf.net/installation/macos/#homebrew but got scared when I saw “flagged as broken”. I’ll give it a shot anyway, thanks!
I never thought to read “floorp” as “floor” + “pee”, but now I can’t unsee that.
Has anyone figured out how to automate updates on macOS (ew I know, but it’s my wife’s computer)?
I recently moved my family from 1Password to Bitwarden. They’re not tech savvy at all and haven’t really noticed a difference aside from that “the password vault looks different”.
Again, they’re not tech savvy so they don’t really use any specific 1Password features. They’re also not constantly adding or removing logins, so Bitwarden has been pretty easy for them.
Meanwhile, Framework CEO:

Yeah, it’s even on F-Droid!
Aaah, ok. I think I’m slowly starting to get it. Also, this video helped: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3k_MwE0Z3CE
So… Seerr requests something (what? how?) to torrent stuff on your behalf?
One of my friend’s neighbors named their wifi “is this the Krusty Krab?”
Of course he named his, “no, this is Patrick”
My breakage happened a while ago, so I don’t quite remember all of the details…
but what I think happened was I updated /etc/immich/.env
. I updated the path for DB_DATA_LOCATION
and/or UPLOAD_LOCATION
and then I ran docker compose up -d
I think. But nothing changed…
What commands do you have to run after you update docker-compose.yml
or .env
files? I updated one of those files once bad things happened… I haven’t had to update the configs in a long time.
Looks cool. Good job!
I know the MIT license tends to be the default… buuuuutttt… there are other licenses too like AGPLv3 or others.
