I too crave violence, yet consider it to be the worse choice at the same time. If peaceful reasoning cannot win against violence, then we’ve already lost as a civilization pursuing a higher state. It’s been some time, but if I remember right, you can spend a few hours in character creation alone just trying to understand all the different selections. And if I’m not mistaken, the factions hostile to you might change depending on which path is taken.

That’s a myth sort of. Cats use a mix of meows, scents and postures to communicate. The quantity of which type is used depends on the situation and circumstances.
Not every cat is talkative yes, but I think that if they could talk, they’ll either beg for food or insult you as these two are the only important situations in which they would deign it worth the hassle.
An opposite thing happened to me.
Wanted to trade something online. The other party listed trade as currency for object or other object + currency for object.
I had the other object and thought they would pay me the currency and their object for mine. It took a while for me to understand what they were waiting for.
They seemed to be a native English speaker. It’s a second language for me, so some meanings get lost in translation.
Taking walks. It made me more aware of how isolation changed my perception of the world.

Exactly, we can’t tell (yet). So the feeling of wanting to be like a tree is a superficial one for now. Because we don’t really understand what it means to be a tree, we just like what we see to be a tree.
We look at their difficulties and think “I can handle that”, but it’s no different than an amateur watching a master at work and think “I can do that” even though it’s the environment and experience that allowed them to grow into what we see.
Alien trees are included.
Trees have it rough. Can barely move, have to compete for sunlight and soil nutrients, can’t scratch an itch, anything that can eat them will eat them without a care, can feel pain but lack a mouth to scream with.
Wanting to be alive as a tree shows how little one knows of them and is a typical case of greener grass on the other side.
