brittle. brittle materials fail in the elastic portion of the stress strain diagram
this assumes a ductile material. I myself am smiling as though everything is fine in the elastic region and may snap at any moment.
here here!
didn’t think much of the sequels though
yeeeeeeclaaaaw pardner!
a little blunt, but there’s the classic Boaty McBoatface
North East, US here. probably fine but I don’t trust it. we use a water filter for drinking
adjacent answer, but resource requirements are lower than might be expected since the simulation only needs to capture elements observed by a conscious entity. the vast majority of the known universe has not been observed in any detail that requires significant memory or processing resources. this same technique is employed by computer game designers so that only scenery and elements within view of a player are fully rendered.
we’ll, shit.
guess I’ve got some movies to watch
I’m late to the party here, but since I didn’t see it mention elsewhere, I’ll throw up unbreakable with Bruce Willis. given his health conditions, it won’t happen with him but it might be able to happen with somebody else in his place.
I feel like that movie established some solid characters and a somewhat unique case of the every man turned superhero. The whole idea of him just being able to touch someone and then get a glimpse into their hidden life was really cool. Plus there was the relationship with his son, bad guy suffering from that brittle bone disease to contrast with Bruce Willis’s character being, well, unbreakable. it was a good setup I thought for a whole series of films.
totally agree in principle. my edc of choice has been the Leatherman skeletool for the last 5 years. pliers, Phillips and flat head and blade have been the perfect combination to balance portability and utility
ditto. also keep one on each side of the miter saw and at the table saw to use the eraser side as an 11th finger when needed
zoltan kaszas.
very strong on the fly and always has new material, usually relevant to wherever he’s performing
never understood the hate he gets. I saw that special he did and I really didn’t see anything disturbing.
hysterical and a great human despite difficult circumstances
come to the US - free sauce packets!
just ignore the chasm of wealth disparity, growing nationalism and maybe being a bullet proof vest. wait… you’re not dark skinned, are you?

I know this post didn’t coin the term 'enshitification", but it really is a great way to describe the monetization of everything that was once good on the internet
I thought he looked a lot like Chris Farley!
many people come back from near death experiences with insight about the whole structure of the universe. one common theme they report is that we all chose the lives we’re living because these lives offered the best opportunity to learn and grow. they say we come back many times until we learn everything we need to.
so, if true, the downside is that you and I will probably be back. but, the upside is that we won’t keep coming back forever and that we can curtail the number of times we will return by being the best people we can and by learning as much as we can.
yep. that’s the correct spelling for that sound
oh wow! cool armor uniforms! and I get a blaster! pew pew pew.
