Yes?
If you don’t have the skills or experience to sell yourself then obviously you don’t have a lot of options.
If there is an afterlife, hopefully they’re not in the same place.

That’s a 9/10 stick you got there buddy, would def take it hiking.
If you’re comparing China/Taiwan circumstances to USA/Panama I’m sorry but I cannot call that a critical thought. The only similarity is proximity.
It probably isn’t. Which is such a shame because you’re gonna miss out on 40 episodes of legitimately some of the best TV ever made. But that makes the let-down so much worse when it comes.
I’d be thinking about whether I had enough money to cruise at like the $10m mark. Maybe I’d stick around a bit longer than that, but $1b is entirely too much money.
You’re proud of this, but you missed out. There truly was a golden age where it was easier to pay $8 for streaming and everyone was happy. Good for you for being Nostradamus and everything, but there was a good ~8 years there where you really could have enjoyed the ride if you wanted.
We have the technology
And abundant resources. But our approach to things like this will not change as long as money is king.
I agree with you, but I’m curious to know your thoughts: What do you do when the 2-3% of people who are willing to take that fight head-on aren’t nearly enough to combat the endless bots and astroturfers across social media? I don’t count myself amongst those 2-3% by the way, I’m on Lemmy and not Reddit in part to avoid some of that. Engaging is far too much effort and I have my own problems to worry about.
Has Reddit’s popularity dipped? We know its quality dipped, but it’s probably better known now than it ever has been. Doesn’t matter how many bots there are if there are also real people there too.
People don’t know what words mean anymore. Everything is hyperbole
They literally tell you when you go through setup.
I’m not well-versed on the subject, but is ticket scalping not a large-scale business at this point? Like, yeah individual ticket holders can be opportunistic, but don’t bots buy tickets by the thousands as soon as they go on sale?
Out of curiosity can you define “no boring intrusive story”? Because personally I’m big on storylines, so if they nail that part then that takes the game to a whole other level
It’s just a job, of course I would. I feel like I dislike most companies anyways, including the one I work for so it wouldn’t change much.
I’d do it too. Here I am working my ass off for the next 30 years to save maybe $1m for retirement and someone’s willing to just give it to me after 48hrs of suffering? No brainer. I’d ask questions about the plan to keep it safe of course, but if I was satisfied that they knew what they were doing, I’d do it no question. I’m surprised that most are saying no to this. I mean shit, at least try.
I’ve heard two theories for this that I think are plausible:
A feeling of familiarity even though this is a brand new situation. Your brain is always trying to determine the best course of action from experiences where you’ve encountered that problem before. Sometimes we have a false positive where the situation is so similar you “remember it”, but it’s obviously slightly different and new.
Essentially a memory read/write error. Your brain is recollecting as it’s consolidating the memory causing wonkiness (technical term) in your experience. You think you remember, but what you’re remembering is actually the present experience.
Personally, idgaf what they do with Prime Video. After about a decade of having Prime, the only thing that has ever caught my attention was Rings of Power and that shat the bed so I’m good there.
I order enough off Amazon that faster delivery is a major draw for me. Ordering from other merchants is a drag because Amazon set the standard forever ago. But is it worth $140/year? Idk, I’ll have to do the value calculation on that one. But it’s getting closer to not being worth it. Especially if they continue to bundle the cost of video that I don’t use onto my shipping subscription.
