There are three things that claim they are family: relatives, work, and The Olive Garden. Out of those things, only one provides unlimited bread sticks. I know which one I’m going with.

Reaply: My mother was abusive and my father left when I was 6. I don’t want a family; I want a living wage.

The trick is to see the meme early, save it because funni and eternally true, and then much later plumb the archives for good memes to give to Lemmy

My bosses boss told me this. I stopped him right there and told him flat out I’m here for a check and that’s it. I don’t care about anyone here. They all could disappear tomorrow and i wouldn’t shed a tear. Didn’t like that comment very much 🤣

Oh i didn’t get in trouble for it as I didn’t break any rules. I speak my mind regardless who I’m talking to. When I’m at work i care about myself only and everyone else i run over with a bus if they interfere with me. Ezpz.

A hell of a lot better than some worthless cunt pretending to give a fuck about me while exploiting my time and labor for as little in return as possible.

They weren’t specific to management with their comments. I’m super nice with my coworkers and I care about their well being. They aren’t family, but they’re good people and I want well for them.

My job vs theirs 🤷. Do your job and I’ll do mine and we won’t have issues. Start drama with me and it’s game over.

Our company is based off levels. So everyone makes the same pay at their respective levels. I’m already maxed out so I’m not getting any raises except for cost of living and the yearly. Sorry you work at a job where people rely on kissing asses and sucking dicks to get a pathetic raise.

You’re expected to drop everything when your family needs you with no expectation of getting anything for all your sacrifice.

Yep - they definitely want you to see the company as family.

If I am ever told we are like family, I’ll gladly let whoever told me that know that if push comes to shove, I am not above murdering “family”.
