oh, they definitely don’t care about the kids. They care about getting arrested or sued.

Oh yea dude, people doing thankless low paying jobs that require the same education as jobs that pay much better are sooooo greedy and not at all passionate.

I got screwed at every step of my education. The passion gets ground out of them without them realizing.

Oh no, they’re aware. They’re especially aware of the clueless people blaming them for not getting blood from stone.

I got lied to about my placement tests for no one’s gain. I got stone walled and gaslighted every time I tried improving my situation.

The most passion I ever heard from a teacher the was a rightwing asshole in my civics class when he was complaining about immigrants or welfare queens. My science teacher had to be asked directly about climate change for him to utter his take on that.

Ah yes my dude. Your anecdotes totally change the facts that teachers do tons of unpaid work, buy classroom supplies themselves to give kids a better education, and constantly are in fights to stop their schools from adding new ridiculous policies.

I had a friend who tried sticking up for his students when the school’s Zero Tolerance Drug Policy™ meant that they couldn’t carry epipens around them. The Principal’s defense when he was told he was he was going to get sued for a wrongful death was “I’ve been sued before”. My friend was let go the following year and didn’t have the energy to sue.

Considering the overall state of the US, I don’t think my anecdotes are exactly exceptions. Everything I’ve feared would happen is happening.

You are literally now listing an example of a teacher sticking their neck out for their students yet still running with this notion that they aren’t passionate and don’t care.

You can’t help but blame the wrong people, and thats insane to me.
