    The DecapiCone:

Make injections and decapitation quicker and easier with Braintree Scientific’s DecapiCones. Tapered plastic film tubes provide quick and easy restraint of rats, mice, and other small animals. I.P. injections can be made directly through the film! DecapiCones restrain post-decapitation kicking and prevent personal contact with feces or urine. A unique dispenser holds DecapiCones open and ready for use. Simply hold the DecapiCone in one hand and introduce the animal with the other. Animals enter readily, heading for the breathing hole at the small end. Roll and squeeze the large end closed. They may be used repeatedly for injections and simply discarded when soiled. For decapitation, hold at the rear and insert the small end into the decapitator.

    Hilarious.

Ornithologists do something similar when they have to handle a small bird in the field or in a lab: the ice cream cone grip

“Shayla Cochran: Picture from my Ornithology class showing the difference in size between a Cooper's Hawk and a Sharp-shinned Hawk. They don't look thrilled to be held like ice cream cones, but it's their own damn fault for being ice cream cone-shaped.” A photo of two hawks, both small enough to be held with a single hand restraining the lower part of their folded wings and their legs to gently immobilize them. This grip results in the majority of their body sticking up like a goofy bird-shaped ice cream cone. The hawks look almost identical in coloration, but have noticeably different sizes.

The bags are often used to administer injections or decapitate a mouse or rat in lab settings iirc

So they can dissect them. Can’t use drugs cause that’ll potentially impact the results.

Don’t rodents, and infact most Gilres, really enjoy being in tight confined spaces? Like, that comforts/relaxes them?

Same reason bunnies are totally chill hanging out inside the fake bottom of a magicians hat.

Wish I could have them 😩but thanks to my ADHD, I’m super forgetful, and I’d absolutely hate myself if in a hyperfocus-depression cycle I forgot to feed my little guys.

I do have a few friends who have rats, though, so I do get some playtime. Which is awesome.

I might be a mouse bc that looks incredibly cozy. Id prefer it more if it wasnt transparent though, having it be dark inside would be awesome.

The last time I saw this meme, someone commented that these bags are made and used so that the mouse can be euthanized after an experiment. Supposedly this holds the mouse in place so that it can be “cleanly” decapitated.

My roommate and I tried to breed giant rats in college. We were aiming for something cat sized. Anyway, they cross-bred into retardation, over population, ate their babies, and got loose. It was… a thing.

Would be cool if it would eat bugs and you could take it around your house and hoover up all the insects you find.
