You gotta be trolling. I’m not responding to you at this point, but posting for anyone who reads that comment without watching the video.
In the video he appologizes multiple times, condemns both wars he fought in, and says he regrets what he said and did in the past. He says his journey made him who he is today, and he’s proud of who he is today.
P.S. In the Jacobin article is a screenshot of a post where he explicity condemns mistreatment/violence against innocents and civilians by the military.
You can respond if you like. I’m disengaging and will not reply.
Edit: I’m not defending a dem. I don’t like the liberals. I don’t necessarily believe Platner is a good guy, but this comment is misinformation and purity politics at its worst.
We have lost shame in our politics. Anyone who admits to faults, owns up to them, and expresses shame for past transgressions is a good person.
I want more people like him who feel it’s better to publically own up to his shortcommings rather than unabashedly double down like we’ve seen from both the Dems and GOP in the last 25 years.
We cannot continue without remorse. We cannot heal without forgiveness. We cannot save ourselves so divided.
He’s still doing a hell of a lot more to atone and, again, not shy away from his past than any neoliberal I’ve seen to date. If we push away everyone without a perfect social rap, we’re going to be so fucking outnumbered when the time comes.
Yes, but guys like Planter are not better than neoliberals; they are still liberals, the same liberals that will support genocide if it gets you healthcare, that is, if you’re straight and white.

Oh wow can you show me those posts where he regrets killing subhuman brown people? Surely Jacobin isn’t making it all up.
There are screenshots in the article of more recent posts he made.
Plus we got all the shit he’s said about how he feels about his past here: https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/maine-democratic-senate-candidate-regrets-deleted-internet-posts/story?id=126636744

That article is about him distancing himself from overly left wing things he said, not sure time as a fascist storm trooper
In that Twitter video he says he is incredibly proud of who he has become by massacring all those innocent Iraqi civilians.
Not hearing any regret

Sure, but the guy pretended he didn’t know it was offensive or alt right. Sorry, disengenousness gets you nowhere.

No show me where he said “I regret going to the middle east to kill brown people”
Read the article, quit asking people to do work for you.

Why did this post get deleted? It wasn’t offensive, uncivil or bigoted.
To form an echo chamber, of course.
Edit: they won’t delete the quote of course, which shows the original message without the quote given from the article.
Because a group of people who furiously agree with each other never made problems for anyone.
Careful… Big Brother might hear you.
