Featuring lush overgrowth and varying elevation, this Redwoods trail provides a more rugged experience than other trails in the area. While the trees are often skinnier than seen other places, they are generally in thicker groves, making this trail feel a bit more adventurous with more isolation.

The trail passing through a slot in a large Redwood tree, surrounded by other towering trees.

Looking up at two large Redwoods as they hold up their fallen friend.

A raised Trillium surrounded by a couple others. One thing I found interesting was that all of the Trillium I saw in the Redwoods had upper leaves that were well above the ground to maximize sunlight capture.

Haha, just wait, one of these Redwoods trails I’ll get to was actually the location for the filming of Endor. Although I don’t have any specific shots that line up with the movie (they had permits for off trail in the area), I’ll be mentioning it. Same goes for a scene from Jurassic Park, although I can’t remember if I went to that location during this trip down to the Redwoods.
