Smells like a purge.
The kind where they’ll call names, take them outside, and summarily execute them for some invented treason.
I mean… the US military is supposed to be anti fascist, and if you’re a general you’ve been there longer than just trumps term, so really they are all anti fascists.
Antifa is a terrorist organization now, so he’ll round em all up, charge them with treason, and install new generals who’ve never served in the military before.
The military swears an oath to the constitution, not the president or any man. Which is what my air force friends have been telling me - don’t worry, the forces won’t go fascist. Trump apparently came to the same conclusion and is reducing their forces while he massively ramps up ICE, his new domestic army that DOES swear allegiance to him.
Which seems like it has implications but I’m no analyst.
Technically, all of the admin did the same pledge and we see how that’s going.
Not just ICE. Republicans are talking about putting a Turning Point USA chapter in every school in the country. They’re stacking the next generation with Hitler Youth indocrination to avoid that pesky “loyalty to the constitution”
I mean, there’s funding, sure. But I’d put my money on a marine with nothing but flipflops and his privately owned rifle over a ICE goon any day.
How many ICE goons are (ex)military?
I could be wrong here, but I feel like anyone in ICE who was in the military are the military rejects, or couldn’t get into the military.
If they were good ex military there would better jobs than ICE.
right, the air force has no extremists
i remember the AFB he was stationed at’s response to this. it was nothing.
Every org is going to have extremists, but you are talking about a former military member that was discharged with a less than honorable discharge, who then committed and was sentenced for murder.
What do you think the AFB should have done here?
he was active duty when it happened
And he was discharged, tried for murder and sentenced to over 40 years in jail.
What do you think should have been done by the military unit that would have made this better?
anything more than jack shit would have been nice.
I mean, I take giving someone a less than honorable discharge so they can stand trial in a civilian court where they got a forty year sentence as more than “Jack shit”…
Which will basically be like Tsarist Russia, which was humiliated countless times in the 19th century and ww1 in no small part due to their big military officers being appointed due to noble rank than merit or ability.
Its actually illegal to be a “Nazi” “Communist” or “Member of a Totalitarian Party” when someone becomes a US Citizen, so I think we should revoke citizenship of all the magats.
