Darwinism works all ways. If we kill the harmless animals, we’re directly breeding more aggressive ones that will attack “unprovoked” because that’s what saved their lives.

Oh, what a shame! If anyone needs me I’ll be having a cry into my champagne on my chaise lounge.

Asher Watkins, 52, was tracking a 1.3 tonne Cape Buffalo bull, known as the Black Death, in the 50,000-acre Bambisana concession on Sunday when it suddenly charged at him at 35mph.

I don’t know why, but j really enjoyed all the numbers in this article. The speed that the buffalo was going when it smashed into him is a detail that would be left out of most articles. But knowing that it was going 35mph makes it very impressive.

Man this descriptive title for the Bull makes me see why Monster Hunter and Xenoblade appeal to so many. We have real life tyrant animals that have fucking bounties on their heads and names like “Black Death” that have killed even the best travelers. Video games are real 🥹

Exactly. We get to play those games without the real world ecological catastrophe that is big game hunting.

I’m upset this very british tabloid didn’t convert the weight to stone.

The bull weighs about 205 stone, btw.

Asher was fatally injured, in a sudden and unprovoked attack by an unwounded buffalo.

Uh, sure it was “unprovoked”. Dude was just out there minding his own business and out of nowhere the Buffalo jumped out of bushes and attacked him.

I think it only fair that as the victor in the fight, the Buffalo should inherit this guy’s millions.

Hunting animals for trophies and prestige is straight-up fuckery and should be banned everywhere.

    Fuck trophy hunters.

    Sorry you lost your dad.

A lot of those hunts are actually part of conservation efforts to cull older males who are stopping the younger ones from mating, and the money goes towards conservation.

He could have donated a million dollars to conservation and hired a local conservation officer perform the culling. Instead he acted out his disgusting instinct to murder animals for fun (not for food and not for conservation).

Local hunters culling deer is fine. It needs to happen since humans have removed predators. People traveling to kill animals is them going out of their way to kill beautiful things for fun.

People getting their rocks off and pretending that they’re engaging in a selfless pursuit. Keeping pieces of animals they/their handler killed, to remind them of what a good conservationist they are.

It’s not that the effect can’t be good when properly researched and regulated. It’s that I’ve simply got no respect nor sympathy for anyone who would find trophy hunting to be a fun activity worth paying for. Fuck 'em. If they cared about conservation, they could donate money to that effort. They want to kill animals for sport, that’s their primary motivation.
