My neighbor reported us for animal cruelty once because we had a Samoyed that loved to sit out in the snow.

Animal Control showed up, looked at our dog happily in a snow pile, confirmed that he had a dog house if he wanted and could come inside of he wanted - and then told the neighbor not to call again.

I remember that part from Drivers Ed.

This summer, we were driving out of our neighborhood and came across a car that had all 4 tires completely blown out and destroyed. I was baffled at how that could happen, since it was a pretty calm spot of road. Maybe the police had put down spike strips to stop a fleeing car?

Then on my way back into the neighborhood I went around our round about and saw the tire tracks of a car that went right through the middle but then left the ground. The dude must have done exactly what was in this GIF!

I browse exclusively on my phone, so deleting reddit apps and installing Lemmy apps was the biggest step for me.

I primarily browsed All, so setting my default sorting to All Top 12 Hours was key.

Finally, I made a point to comment and post more. This is where Lemmy beats Reddit hands down in my opinion. You can comment on posts that are hours old on All and still have meaningful discussions. Trying that on Reddit is like screaming into the void.

Edit: I also forgot to mention that I upvote almost everything. If you made a post that I read and it’s not complete trash, you’re getting an upvote. Same with comments. I upvote almost every comment I read - especially ones in response to my posts or comments. I feel like it let’s people know they’re being seen.

I love the idea of this, but don’t really want a Trump/Epstein statue in my house.
