Does anybody know when this was published? Best I could find was people calling it old 10 years ago.

If you remove the word Internet it would be timeless and I would have assumed it was made a hundred years ago.

It seems as if the EU is racing the US to defeat privacy protections; I know this is an old comic, but the attacks on privacy in the US are fairly floundering compared to EU efforts.

This is a really shit comic.

If you have to label everything, you’re not doing well at communicating by a visual medium.

Have you never seen a political cartoon before?

Are they parodying other comics though, or is this said in earnest?

Political cartoons are typically like this. The one you’re replying to is a really old one I think.

Have you taken a history class in high school? They teach about political cartoons and how they were the memes before memes. Memes have lots of text just like these cartoons.

Well maybe they don’t teach you if you’re in a red state, but all AP History classes should at least have that covered.

First, I’m not in the US.

Second, that may be the way things are done, but that doesn’t make them good.

          Fair I shouldn’t have assumed.

But these are the rules of a political cartoon. Like how there are rules for a Haiku. These aren’t as stringent but that’s the general idea.

Nah, just drunk and being an asshole. Sorry, not trying to actually upset you. The world is shitty enough without extra douchebag going on.

Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.

The rules are simple:

  • The post can be a single image, an image gallery, or a link to a specific comic hosted on another site (the author’s website, for instance).
  • The comic must be a complete story.
  • If it is an external link, it must be to a specific story, not to the root of the site.
  • You may post comics from others or your own.
  • If you are posting a comic of your own, a maximum of one per week is allowed (I know, your comics are great, but this rule helps avoid spam).
  • The comic can be in any language, but if it’s not in English, OP must include an English translation in the post’s ‘body’ field (note: you don’t need to select a specific language when posting a comic).
  • Politeness.
  • Adult content is not allowed. This community aims to be fun for people of all ages.
