There is so much research showing the moral issues of drone strikes, and how creating digital distance from the operator to the targets will easily lead to a higher count of civilian casualties.
I am all for Ukraine using drones to defend themselves against aggressors. But using drones in anything but defensive capabilities, where the civilians aren’t your people, should be highly illegal.
Because these have been seen as untouchable for the longest time, and they’re now developing counter-measures for these abominations. The MQ-9 isn’t a cheap unit, either.
How is this even news? “The guys we are actively bombing managed to hit a single unmanned drone” is not the big story it is made out to be.
They’ve shot down twenty. Not just one.
