Apologize if this has been asked before.

I don’t want to set up a new account, but only get my banned account reactivated.

The account is approximately 10 years old. Was permanently banned 2 years ago. Karma total over 3 million. Mod of 4 popular subreddits. Never once threatened another poster or commentor. Never called for violence.

Never previously banned from a subreddit or site wide.

In a group that I moderated I posted an news article. There were “reports” about the post. As as mod I could see the reports. Remember that reddit bans posts from some “news” sites. So the article I posted was from an unbanned news source.

A few days later my account was banned site wide. I presume some users had found a method to get right to Admins to protest the fact that I dared post an article that they didn’t like.

After the ban I made a few “appeals”. Of course I got the standard “NO” regarding reinstatement without any specific mention regarding what exactly I did wrong. Reddit has site wide rules. I violated none of them.

Occasionally I will do a search of something and if it is a reddit source it will come up under my banned account on my laptop using Chrome. I never deleted the account and I’m sure the “reddit KILL” cookies are still in Chrome which I use for browsing. I still have the reddit app on my Iphone.

I haven’t made an appeal in over a year. I have no interest in setting up a NEW account. I’m just inquiring as to the possibility of getting my banned account reinstated.

If it exists, I haven’t found it, but was wondering if there is a method of appealing that is different from the norm where some Admin will actually read your appeal and after 2 years reinstate you.

I think that when I successfully appealed before, I must’ve just caught someone in a good mood. Because to be honest the ban that I successfully appealed was for a much spicier comment than the ban that I was now unsuccessful at appealing. So the impression I get is that it just depends on if the person seeing your appeal is an asshole or not.

thanks for your response. Maybe I am wrong and there a few real human beings over there reading appeals.
