I think you can enable it as the default mode and then it will load the game quicker? Definitely checkout Unciv though if you haven’t already!

You can play Unciv I guess, I don’t see why you would want a strategic view only though? Nothing stopping you just using that mode exclusively yourself.

Steam (and PC in general) just lends itself to indie games more, which is good. It could do better, but overall there’s a lot of great games that get the recognition they deserve. Triple A finds most of it’s success on consoles, where they can easily market it on the front page of the console, rather than just on the store.

But PC is (unfortunately?) really getting mainstream now, so we are starting to see a lot morals thrown out the window by consumers just to play the latest AAA slop too.

They are not too much more expensive than the example you gave, unless you are buying franchise sets, which then you pay the licensing fees. Of course it wont be as cheap as alternatives and sure you are paying for the brand, but you get insane quality that lasts and the customer support is unmatched.

I think they would implode if we went back to signing up to multiple different forums. The internet is just a vastly different place than it was 20 years ago. It’s very consolidated now and that sucks.

It’s the same everywhere with humans, rushing to be everywhere to save 5 seconds. Which usually ends up in congestion and then it taking longer anyway. Just be patient guys, wait for the people in front of you.

Probs because they are usually outsourced for cheap with little direction from the main studio, “as long as its good enough”. And/or the main studio has completely changed since the original and they just dont have the same respect for it.

It’s just nice to see what’s changed in X amount of years. People who wouldn’t have bought the original will buy the remaster, then be able to see the old graphics, maybe even prefer it. To get a firsthand look at the original is a nice touch, understanding how they built the world with the limitations they had and to see how far we have come. But each to their own.
