  • I used to run Mint and Win7 parallel in uni (gosh, a decade ago?) since we were working with ruby - at the time basically impossible to run and dev under windows.
In matters of development there are almost only advantages, depending on your target platform of course. Bash is great, tools and packages are usually easier to setup than on windows.
For gaming my only linux experience is the Steamdeck. I’ve ran a bunch of non-steam games and Proton (the bridge for windows games under Linux) does all the heavy lifting for you. I only had issues with the Riot launcher, which tended to break when detecting a new update.

  • I’m gonna die on the hill that rogue one was unnecessary.

Its a cool ass movie, but the “everything must have detailed in universe lore”-culture annoys me so much. Especially regarding a franchise that started as metaphoric of a story as star wars.

Like I don’t need in-universe guides to enjoy old kung fu hero movies with floaty wallruns and rooftop jumps. Its all metaphor and stylistic choice.

Why do I need midichlorians and shoehorned blueprint fudging? Plus the ending was so predictable, i was disappointed when realising they really didn’t come up with a better out than what i guessed before sitting down in the theater.

  • Kinda sounds like you might feel at home in the polyamory community.

Lots of people who aren’t “in it” don’t have that sort of energy

I have a hard time imagining telling my wife that “I’m not comfortable” with her doing something she wants to do unless it is something outright dangerous.

Its just a matter of boundaries and agreements really. Most mono couples have an implied set of rules rather than customising their relationship experience by doing the work to define boundaries together. Very much a societal thing i think.

Whether or not you were planning on swinging, that option is now in Wills head and he’s afraid Janet might participate.

In the end it’s just jealousy, but most people struggle with that emotion some times, no matter their relationship type.

  • Yeah couple of options here:

    • he’s the guy but is irrational, mentally whatever and not the calculated genius the online hype has built him up to be
    • he’s the guy and intentionally got himself caught / planned to give himself up for a variety of possible reasons (acting as a public figure, mental instability, guilt, sense of righteousness/justice idk)
    • he’s not the guy and the information on the gun and ID is false or misrepresented
    • he’s not the guy but a whole slew of planted evidence, fake/exaggerated reporting etc make him out to be the guy, which imo seems like the most conspiracy-nutty take. not saying it’s not possible but it seems the least likely.
