As Malm describes, the radical flank effect is a well-documented phenomenon in which the presence of a more militant faction in a social movement makes the authorities much more likely to compromise with the moderate elements.

I will not pretend that Francis’s hands are totally clean. He has mistreated abuse cases in the past. Around 2019 he actually started implementing some reforms that have to some extent helped. While I don’t think he did enough, he did much more than his predecessors. I highly suspect the next pope will be another Benedict and not another Francis. Consequently, I suspect that the mishandling will get worse.

He was an alright Pope in the end. Not a soulless bastard like Benedict.

I’m a bit uninformed on this; it seems fascinating. Do these things happen due to something unusual during the growth of a fetus? What’s the name for this phenomenon?

One of my friends is a type I diabetic. He had some sort of smart thingamajig in his teenage years for measuring blood sugar, so you could monitor it over time or warn your family if you’re in some critical situation.

The jester may mean simply to prank, but they may well have blood on their hands if they fuck up medical devices such as that one.

In any case I can understand your position. I personally dislike quite a few people in the movement even if I don’t see them as enemies.

When was he critical of socialism? I saw him once interview a socialist who said socialism in the USA was on life-support. That’s all I could find.
