Linkin Park + Shitty last name + I think the number was random 20+ years ago
When this came out last March, it was such a mindblowing experience, compounded by the fact that this was Doom, a now 30-year-old game. Sure, GZDoom gave the aging engine some new tricks, but wow. So many intricacies and subtle nods to other mediums. Getting the final ending after all the trial and error approaches really felt like an accomplishment.
Happiness has to be fought for.
Beat me to it. Was an amazing webcomic. Gotta see if I still have my sword-chucks around.
Add Bird-in-Hand and Blue Ball, PA to that list.
Had to cut out both my parents and sibling due to their homophobic remarks and my coming to terms with being gay. The politics just furthered the gap, and the last time I spoke with them in early 2023, “It’s all about that woke generation” came out of my dad’s mouth and that was the end. I don’t expect to hear about their passing, and I’m not sure I’ll care, despite them seemingly raising me to be a decent person. These are two humans who canvassed for Obama in '08 & '12, so it was sad to see them devolve.
Dunno if it’s MP compatible yet, but the newly released Day One mod attempts to simulate the first day of the Knox Event. Tons of NPCs (using a new engine instead of the built in AI), bombs dropping, different factions, etc. Crazy experience thus far, and you’ll probably die faster if you’re not careful.
Still can’t wait for build 42 tho.
'Cause right now on earth I can’t do jack
I’d be curious to see if you can install the patch that reintroduces the E3 graphics and how that’s handled on the Deck. Not sure on the how-to with SteamOS.
Don’t Get in the kiln
I figured that was the case, but what’s the fun of modding without some screwed up textures, some futzing around with the 254 esp limit, and a couple of annoying CTDs?
I never finished The Witness either, but I kinda wished I would have, as the philosophical nature and puzzles were both very engrossing, such a unique take on the “walking simulator” style of game. Granted, it was much more than that, and I’d actually compare it closer to Myst and Obduction than such. The puzzles were repetitive but just incentive enough to be engaging and twisted in just the right way, though they got devilishly difficult later on. Sucks about the motion sickness though. Wonder if there was an .ini swing which could’ve turned the filter off?
Though, all in all, this was definitely a difficult “separate the art from the artist” scenario.
Not sure how or if it’s mess up current saves or not, but if you’ve not considered it yet, is would recommend trying it A Tale Of Two Wastelands. Merges FO3’s Capital Wasteland with FNV’s Mojave via train ride. Keeps all the mechanics as well.
Braid was a solid game all its own, and a remaster certainly wasn’t needed (yet or at all). The Witness was freaking phenomenal, and I hope there will be other iterations of games like it to come. Blow can go blow away though. He’s an anti-vaxxer and Covid conspiracy theorist, and that is something I can write off as anyone worth acknowledging. Plenty of other amazing games in the sea.
Oh, if that was considered a lot. Was just reading comments the other day of someone with 5000+
This is what happens when one mod has patches for other mods… I’m looking at Jk’s Skyrim. I think it makes up 100+ esps on its own with all the compatibility patches.
Same with the VR version. While I could’ve made it easy in myself and used a Wabbajack modlist, instead I have a monstrosity of 1100 mods that seems to work for the most part. Only one CTD in 10 hours lol. Still my favorite VR game overall.
Anytime, thanks! Yeah I’m over in Chester County, Coatesville/Downingtown. I need to chime in more in both those subs.
I drive past this school ever so often, and while I know this can happen at any school, it always hits harder knowing there are asshole kids everywhere. Regardless of true intent, this shit destroys teachers’ livelihoods. While Malvern is a richer area by far (edge of the PA Main Line old money), that doesn’t excuse the behavior, even though there will be money thrown around to silence mouths.
The BS at the end of the article about these kids making the videos private so teachers can’t find them just enrages me more. Like, you little shits haven’t learned you lesson?
This is something that would be great for our 26lb mix. We don’t know yet what he’s a mix of, but we think it may be Bengal or Chausie. I need to flex my handy skills, and this feels like the purrfect way. Thanks for sharing!
There was already an HD remaster released back in 2011… I’m all for crisper graphics, bugfixes and the like, as long as the core gameplay and charm from the beloved original is still there. Still also holding out for BG&E2, but that feels as close to vaporware as it stands.
Also, fuck Ubisoft and their craptastic launcher. Main reason I have strayed from majority of their titles. Maybe it’s a little pedantic, but I’m in the “Steam or no DRM” group if I bother with a game.
Mostly anything I play in VR. I have a basic sim rig I use for Euro Truck 2 and American Truck Simulators, and some DiRT Rally 2 ever so often. Outside of upgrading to a rig with hydraulics and a buttkicker, it’s pretty immersive. For non-vehicular VR, I’m running around in Skyrim with a hefty modlist (1100 mods), and just the baseline mods like HIGGS, PLANCK, and the Community Shaders set of mods adds a huge amount of immersion with the ability to directly interact in the world.
Flat screen gaming, otoh, I would say Project Zomboid. Despite its simple appearance, the amount of mods available really amp up “realism”, in that you can add so much living to the world. The lifestyle mod alone adds a bunch of Sims-like layers to the gameplay.
