I always thought that song was so sad until recently when i looked up the full lyrics to the song and realized it had a happy ending.

The song was a parody of “On top of old smoky” and it was popularized by Tom Glazer who sang the song in 1963.

The lyrics he sang was

On top of spagetti all covered with cheese
I lost my poor meatball when somebody sneezed

It rolled off the table, it rolled on the floor.
And then my poor meatball rolled out of the door

I should record the sound of a can opening, get a bluetooth speaker, put it in the kitchen. Then whenever I need my cat to get up, i just plave the can opening sound on the speaker.

I greatly reduced how much news I consume per day and it’s done wonders for my mental health.

I chose 2 sources of news that I trust and then I block news everywhere else in my life. Every morning I read the news from the two sources I picked and that is all the news I will consume for the day.

If I notice that I am consuming news elsewhere I will block/ignore/hide that source.

As an example, if I notice a community here post too much news I will just block it. I use Discord, so if one of the servers I’m in has any political or news channels I will mute them, etc etc.

Doing this, I find that the news I read is more relevant to me because the sources I chose are local news networks. In addition, because I am not getting news from social media, the news I read is much less sensationalized.

It makes the news that I read boring and I think that is a good thing.

I will say though that I never thought I’d live to see the day where an Apple laptop is the best bang for the buck laptop. If you can grab a M1 macbook refurbished with warranty (places like best buy in canada or back market in the US will offer warranty on refurbished laptops) it is very likely the best bang for your buck laptop.

I got one myself an I have to say, the M1 and likely the other M series laptops are insane. The battery life is nuts and the performance is unlike any non-M series laptop I’ve used. It feels even snappier than a 2024 Asus G14, a laptop that costs double the M1’s price.

Then you get to the hardware and the entire laptop just feels so well designed. I really hate that there is this much of a gap between Apple laptops and everything else.

I have to give credit to Apple here for absolutely demolishing the laptop market.

I’ve heard about it but never played it.

I’ve only played like 8 leagues (each league is around 3 months long) and I have almost 5k hours :/.

Usually if I decide to play a league, i will make sure I have no obligations for an entire month and then I will take the first week of the league off work.
