I’m learning Rust. Working my way through the tutorial in “the book” and it has been interesting so far.

I’ve checked a few times, and I’ve had a few posts show up after I thought I got them all. I think what is going on is that the delete script can’t get posts that are on hidden subreddits that you aren’t subscribed to. So when people are done protesting or whatever and they set the subreddit to public the posts come back.

That’s neat, but how do we know they aren’t an AI hallucination backed up by the human brain’s tendency to see patterns? For example, would the same AI search have found the face on Mars?

Disney ruined the Hitman industry. There used to be hundreds of small, Mom and Pop assassin bureau’s that maybe didn’t always succeed in killing the target but you could tell they cared about ending people’s lives. They put heart and soul into the assassination business. But now Disney has gobbled all of them up and it’s just one cookie cutter hit after another. No creativity, no imagination. They pretty much just walk up to their targets in broad daylight then use the Disney lawyers on the back end if anyone tries to stop them. I sure miss the good old days.

People keep focusing on the slur and his apology. The context of what he is saying wouldn’t be any better if he used an acceptable word for gay people. Either way, both times, he was saying that there are too many gay priests and that he wishes that there were less of them. This is bigoted regardless of the specific words used.

So, instead of saying, “Catholic seminaries were already too full of [bundle of sticks]” instead he meant to say that “Catholic seminaries were already too full of homosexuals”. I’m not sure fixing the one word helps his message or is actually even the problem.

I don’t think they should reboot a show or remake a movie that was initially successful and still holds up. Ironically it seems like that’s the criteria for rebooting a show or remaking a movie.

You might not understand how they are going to control it, but they do. Facebook doesn’t do anything without a plan on how to either get a ton of money from something or a plan on how to destroy that thing. So the fact that they are trying to integrate into the fediverse means they have a plan. They are smarter and more evil than anyone here in the area of making money and destroying competitors, and they will 100% do one of those things, probably both.

Reddit got caught unprepared by the protests, they are probably working on a shadow mod feature and forgot to hide it from the log. Deleting an already removed post is a fairly inconspicuous way to demo the feature.
