US ex pat living in Europe: 100% agree. I’ve actually not had a single person be mean or negative about where I’m from. Either jokes about how it’s going or more likely, curiosity about how things actually are.
It’s just like if you meet a Russian who left. I would hope you’d have the nuance to think “oh, they escaped, fantastic for them and I’m so sorry about their country” not “oh they must love Putin”

It’s good! Really good. Fucking hard sometimes. I’m lucky enough to do it with a lovely partner but you can feel so much more alone than you ever have imo. But it’s very rewarding and lovely. It’s nice to be able to choose a little of cultural and political stuff that you really identify with rather than whatever you got originally
Yeah, of course there’s a lot of opinions about it. I’ve even met a guy who has never left Continental Europe who is pro Trump. but for the most part it’s people deciding to not vacation there anymore.
People from all over are very welcoming of us. I’m always prepared for some pushback of “fucking Americans” and it just never comes.

First of all MP1/2 and Dread have a multi world randomizer called Metroid Prime Randomizer. There’s a discord, it’s a cool community.
But more importantly there’s something called Archipelago.gg, which is a multi world randomizer across MANY games. The few dozen on their site and maybe 120 other ones, of course including MP1 (and 2 is in alpha I think). My friends and I do a big one a few times a year and some smaller ones throughout. I really like it. It’s so funny and confusing to think “my grappling beam is stuck in Pokemon but he needs surf which is past some Stardew checks but she doesn’t have Summer yet which I think is in hollow Knight …”

I’m a massive MP fan. I play randomizers of 1 and 2 all the time still and loved the remake of MP1.
I kind of expected a masterpiece of a game since it’s been SO long. Silksong style (which I do believe is a masterpiece for the genre), where no news and no timeline pressure means they can get it right.
I worry about MP4. I really want to love this. I want this to be the best Prime game. The empty open world, the bike, the graphics on the bike. I do worry a bit.
I just “finished” silksong. I love your points and really agree with them. I think I’m gonna go back in and try to do some of the stuff I noped out on before. Plenty of challenge in this game, that’s for sure.
I can’t believe how out of order I did some stuff. I didn’t like super intentionally do a skip or something, I just happened upon bosses and areas and kinda went through them. Later to realize I had missed whole sections that were way below my skill level

Let me start by saying I have a few thousand hours in Hollow Knight and I do for the most part enjoy the Git Gud type of games.
There are entire genres of games that I can’t enjoy because they’re too open/chill and if they had a hard mode I would probably really like them. This is the same problem the other way.
Maybe wait and some modders might make the QoL parts you want available, maybe never play it, maybe watch a streamer do it. But not every game has to be fun for everyone.

I noticed, and did a lot of refreshing to eventually get it (over 2 hours after launch) but mostly it’s just funny and so so cool that a few Australian guys can make a game and it takes down every store. Straight badass.

I have a membership to a smaller gym and it’s a great deal in my opinion. Cancel anytime, no deals, no discounts, just a price and access to a facility. It’s one of the most pure and simple subscriptions I can think of.
