  • Man, I tried multiple times to get into RDR2. I really want to like it, and I love RDR. But my god that game feels like a job with all the small things you need to remember to do.

Man, even the gun system annoyed me. I’m fine with them having like 4 slots or whatever it was for weapons, but I remember so many times riding to a mission on my horse, selecting the guns I wanted to use and after like 50 feet Arthur would decide “welp, I’m not using these guns, better shove em back in my horse” leadong me to not having a gun ready at the start of a mission. I think that was the straw the broke the camels back for me, just hold the guns I selected Arthur.

Naming, like in the general sense, it seems like many software have some ridiculous names (dolphin, ncmpcpp, gimp, foot, gnome)

For dolphin, if your talking about the emulator it is avalible for windows too and its called that since thats what the gamecube was called internally.

For gimp, yeah i hate the name too, its the “gnu imange manipulation program” and is also avalible for windows.

Those programs that look like random assortments of characters are generally libraries that other programs use to standarize functionality across programs. Don’t want there to be 15 different ways for your computer to understand “write this file to this location” for example. You’ll generally never need to know what they are or what they do.

  • That entire company was like that. Any minor issue, misunderstanding on their end only, or just their own wild incompetence on display always had both companies entire chain of commands on the email list.

I have a long list of complants about this publicly traded company’s dangerous incompetencies.

  • My most satisfying email was when some project manager at the business partner company asked me why I wasn’t in a teams meeting to let their team test their software on our machine. This was an email basically everyone in both companies was on. My boss, his boss, that guy’s boss, all the way up the ceo, and her boss and her boss’ boss, etc.

I replied all with screenshots and an email that basically read “hey, you kicked me out of this meeting now twice. I can’t be there if I’ve been removed”.

I got an email back a minute later where she only replied to me with a sheepish “no i didn’t”
