  • Hair ties, hair clips, hair pins, those spiral thingies you twist in (no idea what they’re called in English) and hairspray to keep it from fluttering about. Lots of ways to keep your hair up and in shape, depends on what exactly you want to achieve.

That said, I don’t know anyone, like literally anyone, who thinks that keeping your hair up is more comfortable.

  • Two minutes (and you’re being very optimistic here, for someone who isn’t technically inclined it’s almost certainly going to be more) of required reading on a subject that’s just not even remotely interesting to 99% of people eliminates basically all non technical people. Because they just don’t care enough to devote that time. If that’s the user base you want, that works out, but I’d like people here who can hold a conversation about something other than Linux and Star Trek. It’s honestly kinda boring here.

There’s zero indication that OP is ordering delivery often, so I’m not sure why you have jumped to that conclusion?

Besides, whether or not ordering delivery often depends on what you’re ordering and on your disposable income. McDonald’s is far from the only option, plenty of real restaurants offer delivery too these days. If you can afford it, you can probably eat a fairly healthy diet even if you never cook. Not for me, in no small part because I usually enjoy cooking, but I’m not gonna judge people who don’t. Doesn’t affect me, I’m not gonna go out of my way to be annoyed.

  • Jesus fucking Christ. No. The vast majority of corporate hiring decisions are ultimately made based on subconscious biases held by individual HR employees, DEI initiatives primarily serve to break those biases. Yes, subconscious biases can still be racist and/or sexist or otherwise harmful, but they’re not intentionally harmful, nevermind hateful, colonialist (the fuck?) or genocidal (where on earth did you even get that from?!).

But Fukushima did render a fairly large area uninhabitable, and the ongoing cleanup is still costing billions every year.

Also, there’s still no solution to nuclear waste beyond burying it and hoping that no one digs it up.

Renewables exist, and, combined with upgrading the grid and adding sufficient storage facilities, can provide for 100% of electricity demand at all times. Without any of the risks associated with nuclear power (low as they may be, they exist), and without kicking a radioactive can down the road for hundreds of generations.

Oh for the love of fuck. Americans. Your country isn’t the centre of the universe. It doesn’t matter where a company’s headquarters are. If you are doing business in, for example, Germany, you have to abide by German laws. Being American isn’t an excuse and it doesn’t shield you from consequences for breaking the law.

Also, the big issue is that Valve isn’t actually using their right to refuse service. People can spread all sorts of bigotry via Steam’s discussions and groups without Valve acting on it. They’re providing a platform for hate speech and that is inherently immoral, regardless of what the law says.

Valve also does business outside the US. American law doesn’t clear them of their legal obligations in other countries. And besides, legality and morality are not always the same. Providing a platform for hate speech is supporting hate speech, and as far as I’m concerned that’s unethical regardless of whether or not it’s legal.
