In about '98, I discovered SNES9x. I had an SNES hooked up to my TV at the time, but as soon as I discovered how convenient it was to play on a PC instead, I just stopped using it and eventually boxed it up and put it away. And I haven’t looked back.

How odd that a single policy document okayed white supremacism, false medical information and pedophilia.

It’s almost as if the three are all somehow interrelated - like they’re all promoted by and for the same people.

America - the land of “people should be punished for voting the ‘wrong’ way.”

It’s amazing that all it took was a few months of Trump in office for Republicans to stop even bothering to pretend to be anything other than overtly and explicitly anti-American - to out themselves as deliberate and even enthusiastic enemies of every single thing that ever made America great…

And once again, all we can do is wait and see if any of the thousands of people with the authority to fight this will lift a finger to do so.

And my prediction is no - they won’t. Between the cowards and the co-conspirators, there’s nobody left who will even try to stop the overthrow of the US givernment and the establishment of a plutocratic autocracy in its place.

Nobody creates anything with AI.

All anyone does with AI is provide prompts that will lead the AI to assemble elements it stole from someone else in ways it stole from someone else.

“Debate” in this case is actually just the blatant and obvious truth vs. evasions, excuses and lies.

Unfortunately, at this particular point in our history, the evasions, excuses and lies will probably prevail.

Appropriately enough, that bubble of aging people also holds an outsized proprtion of the political power.

So all they have to do, if they want to ensure that there’s a constant supply of young people to do the work, is use their political power to make the country the kind of place into which people would want to bring children.

And I have to say, cruel though it might be, that if they can’t even be arsed to do that, then it’s their own problem and their own fault.

So?

The only downside to a declining population is that the moneyed class will have fewer people to exploit, and at this point, anything that harms the moneyed class is a good thing.

Oh, and:

And I believe they’re wrong. I believe it’s driven primarily by the negative reality that much of human civilization (and the planet itself) has been warped and corrupted for the benefit of a relative handful of greedy, power-hungry psychopaths, and more people all the time don’t want to bring a child into such a shitty world.

After reading through the other answers, I’m not sure of what to make of the fact that my first thought was coffee.

What it meant to me was that I had to unpin the link to my lemm.ee account from my Firefox home page.

It could’ve been the case that I would’ve had one less instance to choose from, but in the aftermath of the announcement, I found two new instances I wanted to try, so I’m actually one ahead in the long run.

And that’s it.

And he’s right.

By any measure, the exidtence of that great of a disparity in wealth in a society is evidence of the failure of the systems on which that society is built.

It’s akin to if you were responsible for caring for a field of crops, and you ended up with a field in which two or three plants were enormous, bloated and overgrown. a few were more or less healthy, snd the rest were weak and shriveled and starving.

That rather obviously would mean you’d failed.

So literally what happened here is Trump said, “I want to violate the Constitution” and the Supreme Court said, " Okay — go ahead."

And that’s it for the rule of law in the US.

All that’s left now is to tally the mass murders along the way to the inevitable collapse of the US, and to hope that our descendents can build something better out of the rubble.

Sorry, but no. That’s just the paper-thin excuse.

Pirating, like pretty much anything else that’s sometimes a crime in the current US, is A-OK if you can buy enough judges and politicians.

Political corruption should be a capital crime.

And yeah.

That’s the same reason that I do the opposite - I take an equal number from each end, so the remaining eggs are centered in the carton, so I’m never surprised by a carton that’s unbalanced in an unexpected direction.

No jelly - it’s peanut butter and honey (and cinnamon), and no bread - it’s on a tortilla that’s then fried just enough to make it toasty warm but not crunchy, then rolled up.

Brands don’t mich matter. The only ingredient that can be problemstic is the peanut butter, and so long as it’s just peanuts, it’s fine.

Clearly he exemplifies the qualities the IDF values most, including brazenly engaging in indiscriminate slaughter of unarmed innocents.
