Don’t get me wrong, there could be a take down request going on in the background, but that’s futile. DHS and ICE are federal agencies. Taking on federal agencies is near impossible for a variety of reasons I won’t get into. I come from a family of MAGAts and when they’re angry at something they make sure everyone knows it. They boycott aggressively, tell all their friends and family to do the same and they do not let up.

My friends and fiancee are really, really bad about these things in comparison. I’m sure our canceled subscriptions will be back in 3-4 months.

SL was too complicated when I was a kid. Might be different now, but a lot of us went onto IMVU instead. It originally had no separation for over and under 18 accounts, but even after they added it you had both kids and adults blatantly intermingling anyways. You couldn’t search up over 18 rooms as under 18 or search under 18 rooms as over 18, but people could still invite and chat.

Besides being cowards the few magats with brains also realize that they do not actually want all out war.

If they start shoving large parts of the country, then those parts are going to shove back. It’s significantly easier to keep going at slower pace that invites less resistance. There’s all sorts of anti-homeless architecture out there such as changing benches to make sleeping on them uncomfortable, or adding spikes anywhere on the ground someone might seek shelter. We waste so much money and time attempting to make these poor peoples lives more miserable when all of that could have gone towards simply removing the issue of homelessness.

I really don’t like short-form media. Sure, these people have always existed, but this really promotes it. There’s no room for lengthy explanations either in the video or outside of it in text form.

Say what you will about blogs or youtube, but at least people have text space to add citations and references.

Not sure if they’ll even list anyone that’s actually guilty, regardless of party loyalties. This is just an assumption, but I assume that some of these people visited the island at the same time as the others. In that case outing even a single individual could lead to them inevitably naming and shaming others that have been too. They wouldn’t risk that.

None of this is what I am discussing. I’m talking about the people in the thread who are saying that these people deserved this.

I don’t quite understand the outrage in the thread. I’ve been looking through the comments, trying to see if this ever went beyond gossip and I can’t find anything.

From my understanding the app was intended to be a safe space for women to discuss dating. Relaying information about dangerous individuals, or people who cheat. I can imagine that things might have gotten slightly out of hand in regards to anonymous gossip, but is that anything compared to being doxxed? Besides, women, and men have been gossiping behind each others backs for as long as humans have existed. An anonymous app makes it significantly worse certainly, but it is what it is. This behavior is always going to exist for better or for worse. For example, people already discuss this on sites like fetlife since the risk of ending up with someone who wants to batter you for the sake of battering you is somewhat high there.

Surely we can have some sympathy for people who have had their identifications doxxed by 4chan who haven’t done anything worse than a bit of toxic gossip at most?
