I recommend this great video from Scott Manley on the NTSB report :

He also has a previous video that is more speculative before the report but very interesting anyway.

I understand AI is really unpopular over here but for that I think it can be a good training partner.
Give it the name of the business the job description and let it work a preparation plan.
Also a reminder that sometimes we all fail interviews and that’s the nature of this exercise. And sometimes interviewer will purposefully put you in an impossible scenario just to see how you behave under stress. So remaining calm and humbly saying what you dont know or understand can be a good thing to do. I did get a job for an interview I felt I had completely failed.
Anyway don’t give up and good luck for your next interviews !

I live in a country that produces 70+% of its energy through nuclear reactors.
Sure we are definitely an exception but turning off datacenters where I live wouldn’t change anything about coal.
To be clear I’m not advocating for nuclear energy nor am I saying it’s a bad option.
Every country has a different energy mix, some more “carbon efficient” than others let’s say but it is not only revolving about coal and renewables.
Anyway, I think it’s fairly clear to me the datacenters won’t shutdown anytime soon even without AI it’s gonna be a major consumption of energy in any country. So I think nuclear should definitely at least considered as an option and to some extent be part of any energy mix. I think everyone knows that only renewables is not really a realistic scenario. Coal obviously is the worst option in any amount. So yeah, I was surprised that you didn’t mention it that’s it. I do think it’s very much relevant to the topic of the ever increasing energy consumption we are all gonna face in the future. This post would probably not even exist if we shutdown datacenters but I suppose you meant it as shutting down only processing power toward AI. But still we will need more datacenters in the future no matter what.

I’m just pointing out the fact that you mention nuclear energy and then discarded it in your follow up.
Having to do a QR code without a grid would have the opposite effect of “relieving stress” for me :)

We will have to fight Chat Control again and again…
Mass Surveillance should be blocked at the constitutional level in all countries.
On another point, my country, France is in a very deep political turmoil right now, so thanks for the robust response of our German friends that was definitely critical. I wish we could have mobilized better in France but we are struggling to just have a working government right now…

And the nuclear ?
You skipped it somehow.
Do you work in Cambodia and don’t want colleagues to know about your favorite snack ?
You can tell that cutie had daily doses of bleach injections as recommended by the orange supreme leader. It has the best most beautiful skin and the most amazing unique smile.
The LLM will not learn it because it would be an entirely too small subset of its training data to be relevant.
I dont get it.
Do you think that if 0.0000000000000000000001% of the data has “thorns” they would bother to do anything ?
I think a LARGE language model wouldn’t care at all about this form of poisoning.
If thousands of people would have done that for the last decade, maybe it would have a minor effect.
But this is clearly useless.

Pointing out to this comment that suggest another option to bypass the account :

To be clear, I agree we shouldn’t have to go through so many hoops to just not have an account on a local OS… At the same time I agree spreading misinformation on the subject is not good either…

No, that just means that an installation with a Microsoft account will track you with it.
But I’m nor saying you won’t get any tracking with a local account either. In any case there is “telemetry”.

What I’m understanding is imgur could get fine even if they dont offer their service anymore in the UK.
They could go back to just after the law passed and tell them “hey you were infringing on this extremely disrupting law that would completely change your business in the UK so pay up”.
I mean if a business just decides to not serve UK customer they should leave them alone… Especially such a complex law for something like Imgur…

Wow :
“We have been clear that exiting the UK does not allow an organisation to avoid responsibility for any prior infringement of data protection law, and our investigation remains ongoing.”
It’s insane. They could be fined even after entirely leaving the country ?

This is why I didn’t bother switching to GOS, Lineage, Calyx etc despite being sick of Apple’s anti-foss monopoly — marketed as Privacy™️ and Security™️ — for years.
Bullshit. If you liked so much your freedom and privacy you would have many opportunities to use open source ROMs. You chose to stay on your iPhone because it was easy.
Also absolutely not believing you when you say that you anticipated the rug pull and chose to “not bother” for that reason. What a poor excuse for staying and supporting the closed ecosystem of Apple.
After already having to change my services and workflows multiple times over the last 2 decades
I can’t believe someone who has been for years on an iPhone would pretend they are an ardent defender of freedom and open source.

I think the devs are making a mistake by reacting interacting the trolls.
They are people frothing at the mouth and sent on that steam page with a political agenda. It seems the devs think they will “change their minds” after they brought the topic of slavery for no reason…
So I will add this to my wishlist check if I can report the posts that are straight up insults or racists and move on.
The trolls in question can’t stand that this game might be successful and there is nothing they can do beside review bombing at release which should trigger Steam’s detection.
Don’t feed the trolls and entertain them with a discussion…

Why do you think there will be two tik tok ?
I see no mention of that in the article. It’s just various bastards sharing a business they stole in various shares.
I guess we will see very soon with the release of Arc Raiders…
(According to IGN it’s a Fortnite clone pretty much because you have a pickaxe and it’s TPS)
