Personally my own line of thought is I wasn’t a person until at a minimum the first bit of brain was there, and I want more research on consciousness to figure out how much it took for me to have a concept of “me”, and I figure before that I was no more a person than my mom’s liver is. But I recognize not everyone is going to agree with that. But if you think there is a person from the moment a unique dna sequence is formed, it is easy to see how you can have your perspectives on the subject of abortion. I may not agree, but I understand better.
reddit already censored all the times I said “elongated muskrat”
I don’t buy physical objects and then agree to not own them. I don’t even like that shit with digital goods. I don’t need someones authorization to “allow” me to use what I buy as I see fit. If buying isn’t owning than pirating isn’t stealing.
I’m genuinely curious, when in development do you think consciousness begins?
For you, does this have anything to do with human life being special or sacred, or having a soul?
I’m not looking to mock or provoke, I’m just curious because I’ve seen people place importance on the life or dna of the fetus being human or importance on when the brain forms, or when the heart starts beating. People have a wide variety of opinions on both when life starts and on when personhood starts, and the criteria they use for each. I think discussing these things objectively could help reduce internet arguments on the topic, but only if people have good faith discussion. I realize that is tough to do these days.
Hello fellow boxes, my name is Eight.
:(
intense pacing? it’s a gd speedrun of it is what it is
I’ve felt more free to express my thinking here than I ever did elsewhere. Except for a tech focused one that I got dogpiled on by people arguing in bad faith about the crowdstrike fiasco.
need to make enough noise that even with reddit trying to supress it and deleting removing and shadown banning people still learn of the alternative.
Inflation was for a long time offset by a steep decline in the cost of delivering the product, and thats still true for the digital copies to a large extent, but with most AAA games blowing huge budgets on production publishers have been wanting to push the ceiling up for years now.
yup, shit that we already have will start being gated behind the fee of the subscription

I think the person saying it wants to avoid family or acquaintances giving them shit for not sharing their political views.
Most of my family is very conservative stereotype vile people. I’ve heard that exact phrase from the few left leaning relatives as they try to wigle out of unconfortable conversations. I myself am the black sheep that just tells the repugnicans that their views disgust me.
right? I read this and my first thought was “only 20?!”
Us rare ones pay a price for it too. Just about my whole family is hard right republican and religious idiots. Life with them has not been great.
they don’t accept sources outside their local news and social circle where they accept everything as truthful and any outsider is automatically untrustworthy. I’ve run into someone utterly convinced that their local schools were forcing kids to become trans against thier will, because they heard it repeated by thier idiot republican social circle. No evidense required. Instead in thier mind burden of proof is on me for saying that’s ridiculous.
Even when they don’t wholeheartedly believe the lies they’ve been goven they will pretend to for fear of their social circle response.
You get what you deserve! #jokerwasright
I got banned from half the subs on reddit for trying to explain the scunthorpe problem on programming related sub, because all that is what happens when everyone uses the same automod that has the exact problem I was trying to explain and they also ban you from subs you’ve never even been to because they share a naughtylist of ppl who use the c word.
for anyone that’s never heard of it: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scunthorpe_problem
reddit admins and mods are just using idiotic automation to shoot first and ask questions never
and also to help the billionaires not have to look at things they don’t like so elongated muskrats don’t get thier feewings hurt
gotcha, that’s my hope as well.
