Might not take #1 spot, but is definitely up there. A pair of Levi’s jeans that were worn through in 2-3 days.

I think it was a case I heard about on Criminal podcast where a man who turned himself in for having killed a man a long time ago and took full responsibility ended up pleading not guilty at his lawyer’s insistence. He thought there was a reasonable chance for a more lenient sentencing that way than pleading guilty. Can’t remember what the reasoning was.
US gives significantly less per capita than almost all western European countries, and even less as percentage of GDP. This is not a case of the US being the only one who does something. It’s the US doing so much less than they could, and everyone else in a comparable position is. And now taking even that away.
Oh, it is for sure more likely.
Or the picture is a statement for why artists shouldn’t be replaced either. Who can tell.
I always preferred idfa, so you’ll actually still get to play the whole level looking for the keys.
I don’t think Oracle Java is even supported by the software I work with anymore. I was amazed to learn last year that one of our customers was only just switching to Openjdk. Every one I’ve worked with made the transition years ago.
Oh, I was just trying to be silly by taking you too literally :)
I shudder at the thought of freeze dried coffee being even more fuckef up than it already is.
It gets bitter if you use water that’s too hot. For black tea you’ll want to bring it to a boil, then take it off the heat and you can pretty much immediately add the tea then. For green tea you want it quite a bit cooler than that, and so forth.
You’re definitely making tea wrong if you’re putting the tea in boiling water.
The crew isn’t Russian though. Just hired help that don’t care too much what they’re paid to do. Russia doesn’t care about their fate.
Much, much longer than that. But yes, they picked up the pace again in recent years.
Certainly was.
I think you’re thinking of Aptiva.
That particular one is Taiwanese I believe, and passed several minutes before the outage maintaining a constant pace.
Finnish border guard has stopped a tanker registered to Cook Islands that’s part of the Russian shadow fleet, which slowed down significantly while crossing the cable and was on site when the outage started.
Coming from a not English speaking country where subtitles instead of dubbing is the rule, it’s kinda the opposite for me. Subtitles allow me to see at a glance what to expect, so I’ll have an easier time focusing on the dialogue. I have some kind of hearing impairment, so that while my hearing is very good, it only takes a little bit of noise to muddy speech so that I really struggle to make out words. That said, subtitle translation quality has been going downhill fast for the past 15+, and that has made them a lot less useful. Especially with companies like Disney and Netflix not caring one bit about translation quality, only how much they cost to make. When you’re watching Star Wars and they start talking about attack helicopters, it’s time to switch off the subtitles.
Anyway, I’m sure it’s largely down to habit. If you’ve grown up reading subtitles and it’s perfectly normal to you, they’re not distracting and you don’t spend a lot of time on them. I can easily see how it could be a completely different experience when it’s an exception and not the rule.
Sadly your average person just doesn’t care about consumer rights, in any matter.
I learned my lesson about malicious DRM when Starforce broke my new computer’s DVD drive back in the day. Fortunately it was still under warranty so I had it fixed, but sucked all the same.
Not just with the French, the same is happening all over Europe. I’ve heard from a first hand source that the US embassy in Finland has already canceled contracts with companies that refused the demand.
