7 days agoPoor people just need to cobble together EMP weapons if there are robot oppressors. Robots couldn’t be wirelessly controlled or have any wireless antennas without being EMP vulnerable.

After driving several Chevy vehicles over the years, I’d never buy one myself. Would definitely not trust them to make a good EV.
That would be no problem, unless your electricity is unreliable and you don’t have a UPS. I rarely use the power button on any of my PCs or Macs, except the one old PC that can’t do S3 sleep anymore (crashes on wake).
Are y’all not using sleep mode? Also the Apple M-cpus are extremely power efficient so leaving it on without sleep mode is a perfectly fine option too.
Wow that’s horrible, and has to be terrible for kids’ mental health and general perspective on the world. Kids should know what freedom feels like and expect it as the default, and this kind of repression is liable to result in more outbursts of any kind.

Not if the app is coded properly to not include message content in the push notification. Signal uses google notifications only as a wakeup event to poll the (not google) server for the new message.
It would still be hard to build an EMP proof chassis that completely surrounded it though. A Faraday cage needs a connection to ground wiring to work properly for example.
