This happens with every corporation after a while. Make a good product -> Get liked / recommended by the community -> Get big -> Get Greedy -> Make products shitty to maximize profit Also often add a ‘Get big’ can also be ‘Get bought’, product quality typically drops off of even more of a cliff if that happens. Another big indicator of a company that’s about to go to shit would be if they get onto the Stock Market, as once you’re in there, making sure that next quarterly profits are higher than the previous one becomes top priority above all else. Anything that takes profits without giving them more money will be dropped.
Biggest upside of Plex for me is the fact that you can set up secure streaming from anywhere with basically a single click. With Jellyfin, that is much more manual. Besides that, I think some people may like that Plex has its own set of TV Shows & movies to stream, though I’m certain that those are ad supported. (Haven’t used that feature & have moved to Jellyfin)
