I once saw a hearse driving with like 50 cars right behind it. I couldn’t believe all those aggressive drivers riding his bumper!

I use Voyager too. It’s not perfect, but it’s pretty good.
“As long as we all fall in with the criminals, we’ll be united! Why won’t you let us be united?!”
Very interesting reads, thanks. I knew some of it but wow…
I’d rank them “eh”. They’re okay, but he is so highly over-rated. I just don’t understand how people love them so much.
A lot of people have been forced/coerced into admitting things they didn’t do by authorities desperate to find a suspect. It’s not a guarantee they did it.
if you exclude the possibility of something happening it won’t happen
That’s exactly my point. Infinity can be constrained. It can be infinite yet also limited. If we can exclude something from infinity then we have shown that an infinite set does NOT necessarily include everything.
so the results will include every possible string of characters ever.
That’s just not true. One monkey could spend eternity pressing “a”. It does’t matter that he does it infinitely. He will never type a sentence.
If the keystrokes are random that is just as likely as any other output.
Being infinite does not guarantee every possible outcome.
The original statement was that if something is infinite it must contain all possibilities. I showed one of many examples that do not, therefore the statement is not true. It’s a common misconception.
Please use your big boy words to reply instead of calling something “dumb” for not understanding.
That’s not true. Something can be infinite and still not contain every possibility. This is a common misconceptoin.
For instance, consider an infinite series of numbers created by adding an additional “1” to the end of the previous number.
So we can start with 1. The next term is 11, followed by 111, then 1111, etc. The series is infinite since we can keep the pattern going forever.
However at no point will you ever see a “2” in the sequence. The infinite series does not contain every possible digit.
Somehow businesses have managed to convince people it’s normal to waste countless hours of their life listening to someone else tell them what they need to buy so they can be happy and fulfilled. We’re bombarded by it. Radio, TV, internet, social media, busses, billboards, flyers, junk mail, email spam. It’s everywhere. It completely pervades our society and lives. It’s pervasive and it’s anything but normal.
It’s a sign of a seriously sick culture, and somehow we’ve all become brainwashed and numb to its harmful effects.
radiation therapy will be seen as barbaric at some point.
We already know it’s barbaric. It’s a last resort. It kills you and the cancer, only the cancer gets the worst of it. It’s a terrible solution to the problem, only a step better than death.
Oh god that sounds disgusting! How can you eat that? I don’t think I could even get to the point of swallowing, let alone chewing it up. I feel a little nauseous just thinking about it. Cilantro?!
Right, but they were also under 6’ tall. Or were politically left-leaning. Or had dark hair. Or whatever other things they might share. Why didn’t you emphasize that? Did it even cross your mind that maybe the socio-economic background might have more influence on their work ethic than what country they happened to be born in?
You didn’t even think twice about any of those factors and settled firmly on “Indian” as the single defining thing among them. That’s racism buried so deep you don’t even recognize it.
I feel a bit bad for people like you. The first step in becoming a better person is recognizing your biases, accepting them, and trying to overcome them. You’re just in utter denial.
But you skipped over 100 other qualities they shared and instantly focused on their race. The fact that you don’t even realize your bias is what makes is so pervasive. You don’t even realize you did it, and here you are arguing that you’re not responsible.
So why is that you picked Indian as being the common attribute among them? Why didn’t you say “a few married workers were terrible”, or “workers with 3 kids”, or “people over 50”? Why did you instantly jump to them being Indian to be the single defining attribute?
THAT is prime racism.
If I talk about some white man I hired, and I said he sucked, that is also racism?
It is if you specifically mentioned that he’s white, yes. The problem is that you’re openly stating your biases as being important to the story. However your biases are exactly that, biased. You don’t know if they’re relevant or not, but you feel it necessary to say anyway. That’s prime prejudice. You don’t know their education, history, family life, economic situation, or any number of other factors that could come in to play. But you assign importance and blame to the fact they’re Indian. Racist.
prompting the internet to question the sanity of Trump fans.
What is this, 2016?
I’m conflicted on which Simpsons meme to post. Either the “Old man yells at cloud”, or the “No, it’s the children who are wrong”
Seals can’t fly to begin with.
