I agree. One thing that bugs me about lemmy is how intellectually dishonest and blind people are when it comes to their own biases.

No, just it’s a stupid take and always has been. Anyone with an ounce of objectivity is at least waiting for something more definitive and not simply going with what they would love to be true.

Yeah maybe. I assumed he said it because he took issue with the concept of affirmative action in general and wanted to talk about that.

Those specific women said that they wouldn’t have got where they are without affirmative action. He interpreted that to mean that they were admitting to being lesser qualified.

THEY said they only got there because of affirmative action. I assume Michelle Obama meant that her husband wouldn’t have been elected if not for affirmative action as well, which i disagree with.

He said that in context of a few specific women, not black women in general. Seriously, taking things out of context is so habitual that I can’t believe anything.

Do you or do you not think it’s ok to kill people who express opinions that you strongly disagree with? Because i don’t. And if you do, then you have to allow for the possibility that they will also kill you for your opinion. It’s a zero sum game, and any society like that will inevitably fail.

I’d say the same thing to right wingers celebrating the death of someone on the left. Wrong is wrong.

Should his (possibly) millions of his supporters also die? Should they preemptively start killing people they view as threats to them? You know, since some people are saying that they should die for their opinions… you see how this goes? It’s not hard to see how a zero sum game ends without any winners. That’s why you have to compromise by at least not killing each other.
