4 days agoThe top ten box office movies for 2024 had 8 sequels, a live action Disney remake, and the first part of an adaptation of a Broadway musical based on a book which was a prequel to another remade movie based on a book.
I reckon the 2025 list reflects the state of the industry quite well.
I haven’t read the source material but the movie is one of the best sci-fi films of the new millennium, and certainly one of the most enjoyable. Films like Arrival, Dune, Blade Runner 2049 are visually striking and thoughtful but Edge of Tomorrow is also great fun.
